Montréal May Soon Allow 24 Hour Nightlife

According to an article from Radio-Canada, nightclubs and bars in Montréal may soon open for 24 hours a day. In Montréal’s historic Quartier latin (Latin Quarter), nightclubs and bars are open until 3 a.m. currently. When 2024 starts, the Latin Quarter will possibly get to witness a landmark moment where it will test out the 24-hour policies that will enhance its nightlife.

Next month will see Montréal’s Latin Quarter trying out the 24-hour plan, over a year after Montréal supported a $2.1 million investment that strives to rejuvenate the nightlife of the third-largest French-speaking city in the world. This investment is also supporting 15 similar pilot projects across the whole city as well.

The 24-hour policies will bring back a renewed spirit to Montréal’s clubs and bars

The local Montréal government will announce more details about the 24-hour nightlife district. A 24-hour nightlife will be beneficial for nightclubs and bars that had dealt with noise violations in the past. Earlier this year on a designated weekend in February, several bars and restaurants on St-Laurent Boulevard got to serve alcoholic drinks throughout the night.

The all-night serving of drinks was also part of a project that saw some bars opened until 8 in the morning. The investment into enhancing the city of Montréal’s nightlife has been two years in the making. The year 2024 might see Montréal become one of the world’s top 10 (or even top 5) cities to visit for those who love the nightlife.
