[Event Review] FISHER Takes it to the Next Level at Montreal’s Piknic Électronik

Australian superstar DJ and producer FISHER returned to Montreal for the first time in almost a year. This time around, the talented artist performed at the Piknic Électronik this past Saturday (July 8), and delivered one of the most memorable performances in recent memory for the event.

For those of you who don’t know, Piknic Électronik is an outdoor electronic music event that offers immersive and social experiences in a friendly environment, and is celebrating 20 years of operations this season. Located in Parc Jean-Drapeau, – the same site as îLESONIQ and OSHEAGA – Piknic attracts thousands of electronic music lovers every weekend all summer long.

As for the night itself, let’s just say the vibes were immaculate. Obskür and Airrica warmed up the crowd before Shermanology hopped on the decks for an hour and a half. When FISHER came on at 8pm, the place was packed, which was already the case 30 minutes prior. Obviously, the event was sold out, but to see that many people before the official headliner just shows how popular the man is.

Right from the start, FISHER captivated the crowd with an ID remix of Skrillex, Fred Again.. and Flowdan‘s popular track ‘Rumble‘. FISHER continued his two-hour set by bringing the energy up with every track, making the crowd sing every word of his records and dancing to the rhythm of the 4×4 songs that he mixed perfectly.

The vibes were high, and the crowd was louder than ever. Even FISHER himself seemed to have a little bit more fun than usual. He really seems to love his fans, and it’s safe to say that they love him back. For the Piknic’s next events, please visit their official website. To follow FISHER’s tour, please click here.
