New MSG Sphere in Las Vegas Tests LED Panels

If you weren’t aware, a brand new state-of-the-art venue is being built in Las Vegas. MSG Sphere has been under construction since 2018. From designs and specifications, it appears it will be a one-of-a-kind experience for concertgoers. The Sphere is complete from a structural view for the most part. Luckily for us, a new video has emerged of them testing out the LED Panels on the outside.

the venue will support the highest-resolution LED screen in the world. This will be coupled with a 170,000-speaker multi-layered audio system. MSG Sphere at The Venetian will be the largest spherical structure in the world at 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide. It will seat 17,500 people but have an expandable capacity of up to 20,000 with a standing room. You can imagine that might be for when a DJ performs.

It is scheduled to be completed this year. MSG Sphere will feature a pedestrian bridge that will connect the venue to Venetian’s Expo Center. The plan is to have a state-of-the-art “beam-forced” sound transmission with “infrasound” haptic flooring systems. Basically, guests will really be able to FEEL the audio. The exterior would be a 350-foot round dome that is fully programmable to visualize a number of things from the earth itself to the surrounding skylines.

It has already been announced that U2 will open up the venue. I bet EDC will be all over this venue once it is complete.
