The techno legend Bart Skils returns with a new double-single via Drumcode called ‘Shades Of Summer‘ with the talented producer Weska. This follows his 2019’s popular ‘Polarize‘ EP, and it’s a sample of his unlimited creative abilities on the techno front with his signature, impact-heavy melodic edge.
It’s been two years since the release of this splendid duo’s debut EP. Ever since then, we’ve been waiting for a moment when both the Dutch veteran and the rising Canadian will come together again. That time has come.
‘Shades Of Summer‘ makes us feel like we are in a strange but powerful mood. It lives up to its title with characteristic sounds of a summer day at the beach – while simultaneously hidden in a dark and tense atmosphere as if we were trying to get out of a dark abyss. We may be in the midst of European and American winter, but this theme offers a needed respite and looks ahead to the warmer festival months.
And if the title track with a magnificent sensation of synths and powerful bassline wasn’t enough, ‘House of Lords‘ arrives. It starts off hard-hitting with a heart-pounding bass that rumbles the head in every minute of the track. Paired with the infectious melody and drum pattern, dancefloors will run rampant with energy on this.
In summary, this double-track shows us why Bart stays ahead of the game and Weska is one of the most prolific artists in recent years. As two of the most respected and in-demand techno DJs, this track surely will get you in the mood for festival season.
