UMEK Will Drop The First Live Performance NFT

Slovenian techno producer and DJ UMEK is about to drop the first-ever live performance NFT. The techno veteran joins the list of DJs who saw the NFT trend as a wonderful opportunity. Other amazing artists like Don Diablo and Calvin Harris have also dabbled with these Non Fungible Tokens.

UMEK needed some support in order to pull this move off, so he partnered up with Viberate. For those who do not know about it, Viberate is a Blockparty digital marketplace and music research and analytics platform. This interesting collaboration mixes techno and blockchain technology.

This particular event will be starting on April 29 and will run for 24 hours. UMEK’s offer on the Blockparty marketplace will include five different NFTs. Amongst these NFT’s we can find three exclusive remixes of his seminal 1999 track ‘Lanicor’, one Livestream performance, and one live gig. This event is a wonderful opportunity for UMEK’s fans as the buyers of these NFTs will have the chance to book him for an exclusive online event, or book him for a real-life live performance. Obviously, they will also be able to purchase the rights to one of his original remixes.

UMEK Joins NFT Mania With Live Performance Tokens

“I’ve been actively involved in the crypto scene for the last couple of years, especially as Viberate, the music research and analytics platform I co-founded, also includes blockchain technology. I was definitely inspired by NFTs and all the creative ways other artists went about them, so I developed my own concept: booking live gigs through NFTs. We’re all painfully aware that live events are returning very slowly, so this could be an opportunity for any artist, big or small, to make sure they have a booking waiting for them once live gigs are back in the picture.”

Although UMEK is not the first to join the NFT trend, he is the first to offer a live performance NFT. The EDM scene reacted very positively to this opportunity. Besides, artists such as Grimes, Steve Aoki, Kygo, Don Diablo, and Kings of Leon, already sold their NFTs. Amongst the most popular uses of this currency, we can find albums, VIP tickets, digital art, or other concepts.

UMEK’s upcoming drop is the first to explore new possibilities for music artists to secure their bookings. UMEK’s NFT drop will launch on Blockparty on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 8:00 pm GMT+1 (3:00 pm EST).
