‘R U I N’ by Ekali & 1788-L is officially here – and it certainly lives up to the hype. Up to this point, we have only heard snippets of the song from Ekali himself. Illenium even threw his own spin on the then-unreleased track. Now, we finally have the full track in all of its epic glory.
This track combines Ekali’s crafty rhythm and rise, alongside 1788-L‘s trademark synths. These styles bring the track together in a perfect harmony. The song has a firey passion behind it, delivered in an intricate, explosive manner. This collaboration is full of energy, presenting layers of glitch and melody. Prior to the release, Ekali shared a video with his fans performing the track live.

Ekali has made waves in the electronic music community, experiencing a rapid rise of recognition in 2018. From the release of his EP Crystal Eyes, to his Awakening Mix Series, Ekali is certainly making his way to the top. Ekali is part of the OWSLA label, under which he released his immensely popular single ‘Babylon’.
1788-L has also experienced an ascension into the spotlight this past year, most recently touring with Rezz at her “Certain Kind of Magic” tour. His hallmark “automotive synth” sound is completely recognizable, and adds an extremely unique dimension to his musical style. He is featured on popular songs like Illenium’s ‘Sound of Where’d U Go’, in addition to Rezz’s ‘H E X’.
