Insomniac Releases Trailer for EDC Japan 2019

Since it’s inception in 1997, EDC has reached unimaginable lengths. Over the years, they have had international expansions to India, Mexico and China. Three years ago, they branched out even further when they started EDC Japan. Annually held in Tokyo, the festival has attracted over 80,000 attendees. To hype up the 3rd edition of the festival, Insomniac just released a sick trailer.

EDC has partnered with GMO Culture Incubation for this event. This has allowed them to put the festival on in Zozo Marine Stadium & Makuhari Beach Park. This year marks the Asian debut of the kineticLOVE main stage – usually called kineticFIELD.  Factory 93 and HARD-branded stages will also head to Japan for the first time.

The trailer begins with ravers walking around the streets of Tokyo. They are greeted by classic looking EDC performers and then the video transitions to recordings of the 2018 edition. Most are of the infamous kineticFIELD “Gaia” stage which is the best stage design they have had so far. Throughout the video, they show an EDC Heart being passed around. This scene most likely represents the love people have for one another at EDC.

The lineup has yet to be released but if it’s anything like last year’s (which included Alan Walker, Above & Beyond and Rezz), expect it to be awesome.

EDC Japan takes place May 11 & 12, next year. Tickets are already on sale and you can buy them here. Check out the trailer above!
