Deadmau5 Impresses With EDM Satire Track: ‘Carbon Copy Cookie Cutter’

Deadmau5 Drops EDM Satire Track: 'Carbon Copy Cookie Cutter'

Having dropped a cheeky mashup of Martin Garrix’s ‘Animals’, and the popular nursery rhyme ‘Old MacDonald’ during his mainstage set at Ultra Miami this year, it is clear that Deadmau5 is no stranger to parody tracks. Seemingly more cynical towards the recent trends within the electronic music community, Deadmau5 took to Twitter to vent his frustration.

After a mere 30 minutes of work, Deadmau5 released ‘Carbon Copy Cookie Cutter’, which is a stab at the lack of creativity and variety in recent electronic dance music releases. Although it was produced solely as a troll track, some fans could not help but enjoy the combination of “Vengeance samples, Nexus presets, and a brick-wall limiter.” The track is available for free download through his website of course, because he “does not have the balls to sell it to you.” Listen below and share your thoughts!
