Charges filed against Pasquale Rotella has been dropped

Pasquale Rotella
Alright ravers, we can all take a deep breath now. A LA judge threw out the remaining 7 counts in the civil lawsuit against Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella, Reza Gerami of Go Ventures and Todd DeStefano. The lawsuit alleged that the three were conning hundreds of thousands of dollars from public venues in a scheme that had promoters paying DeStefano, an ex-Coliseum events manager, under the table. The suit, brought about by the L.A. Coliseum Commission had Pasquale looking at 13+ years in prison if he had been convicted. L.A. Superior Court Judge Terry A. Green, who had dismissed some parts of the suit last year, today announced that the remaining 7 cases would be thrown out as well. But, there’s a catch; the Coliseum Commission has until July 31st to amend its complaint, according to Law 360.

This will hopefully be good news for L.A.’s ‘EDM’ mayor Eric Garcetti who has previously said this:

“Would he allow music festivals to happen in LA again, especially at the coliseum. Huge festivals like electric daisy carnival bring in a huge inflow of cash to the city and surrounding neighborhoods…” Eric responded to the question in no uncertain or waffling terms, “YES! I want some signature festivals here in LA, the music capital of the world. If you like electronic music, then L.A. is where the DJ scene is at.”

The real question now is will the Coliseum Commission continue with the “Would he allow music festivals to happen in LA again, especially at the coliseum. Huge festivals like electric daisy carnival bring in a huge inflow of cash to the city and surrounding neighborhoods…” Eric responded to the question in no uncertain or waffling terms, “YES! I want some signature festivals here in LA, the music capital of the world. If you like electronic music, then L.A. is where the DJ scene is at.”?

The real question now is whether or not the Coliseum Commission will continue their proceedings. As all ravers hold their breath, they can go to sleep knowing that today they, and more importantly Insomniac, dodged a huge bullet.
