Fred again.. and Mexican trio LATIN MAFIA have released their Mexico City USB002 DJ set, out now exclusively on Apple Music in Spatial Audio. The set captures a booth collaboration that turned out to be more than a one-off, laying the groundwork for a project the two acts would build together months later.

The set was recorded on December 11, 2025, in front of a hometown crowd in Mexico City. LATIN MAFIA joined Fred inside the booth for the performance, blending the producer’s genre-blurring dance sensibilities with the trio’s own sound during the closing stretch of his USB002 run — a ten-week series built around ten songs released across ten different cities, with each stop shaped by the character of its location.

That Mexico City session wound up sparking something bigger. Fred again.. and LATIN MAFIA reunited to create the collaborative mixtape 9 months & 50 hours, which dropped earlier this summer after the artists brought fans into the creative process through a 50-hour livestream. The project also led to a 20,000-capacity show in Mexico City and a companion mini documentary, cementing what started as a single festival crossover into a full creative partnership.

With the Mexico City mix now out, Apple Music’s USB002 series is complete. It follows earlier Spatial Audio releases recorded in Lyon and Toronto, rounding out a trio of city-specific sets that trace Fred’s USB project as it moved across continents. Each mix carries its own local flavor while staying tied to the same throughline — dance music built for the room it’s played in, then preserved for headphones everywhere else.

For an artist who’s spent the last few years jumping between arena tours, festival headline slots, and genre-agnostic collaborations with everyone from Skrillex to The Blessed Madonna, the USB002 series has served as a lower-key showcase of his DJing chops specifically — a reminder that before the Grammy nominations and stadium production, Fred Gibson built his name behind the decks.

The Mexico City USB002 set is streaming now on Apple Music in Spatial Audio, alongside the Lyon and Toronto installments and the rest of Fred again..’s catalog on the platform.
