Legend Dave Seaman is finally putting out a solo artist album, and the title track just landed as proof of what’s coming. ‘Mirrorball Sleaze‘ arrives today on Selador, the label Seaman co-runs with Steve Parry, backed by a remix from Tronic boss Christian Smith and label mate D-SHIFT.

It’s a notable release for a DJ whose career stretches back nearly four decades. The full album, also called Mirrorball Sleaze, is Seaman’s very first solo artist LP and is set to land on Selador in November. That’s a long time coming for someone who’s been a fixture of British club culture since the Acid House days, and who’s built a catalog spanning remixes, Global Underground mixes, and label work that helped define UK house and trance sounds through the 2000s.

The album pulls together new and older material, some rerecorded or reworked specifically for this project, tracing a line from Seaman’s earlier releases up through where his sound sits today. According to the label, it’s meant to connect the dots across his catalog rather than function as a simple career retrospective.

The title track comes in three versions. Seaman delivers a beatless electronic album mix — nicknamed the “Freedrumapella” — alongside a club-ready rework of his own, while Christian Smith and D-SHIFT handle the peak-time interpretation.

‘Mirrorball Sleaze’ also nods back to Seaman’s own catalog. The track references his 2015 single ‘Strobelight Symphony,’ which itself pulled from Superstars of Rock, an act signed to Seaman’s 1990s label Stress Recordings. It’s a callback built entirely from new material, connecting old ideas to a fresh production without leaning on nostalgia for its own sake.

The beatless version leans ambient and reflective, built more for a chill-out room or an after-hours wind-down than the dancefloor. Seaman’s own club mix splits the difference between moody and euphoric, while the Christian Smith & D-SHIFT remix goes harder, built around melodic, bass-driven grooves aimed squarely at peak-time sets.

‘Mirrorball Sleaze’ is out now on Selador, available to stream and purchase across platforms including Spotify and Bandcamp. Seaman’s debut solo album, also titled Mirrorball Sleaze, arrives on Selador in November.
