Movement Music Festival Announces Full 2024 Lineup

Movement Music Festival has announced the full lineup of its 2024 edition, featuring over 115 acts, including headlining sets from German-Bosnian superstar DJ and producer Solomun, plus a brand-new show from electronic music innovator Richie Hawtin, joining previously announced headliner Fatboy Slim.

Today’s announcement also includes an additional performance by Drum and Bass luminary Goldie (DJ Set); globally revered selector and Black Book Records founder Chris Lake (coming off his hotly anticipated Gotye revamp “Somebody (2024)” and a massively sold out event on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles); legendary Atlanta hip-hop artist Ludacris; enigmatic Compton artist Channel Tres (DJ Set); New York House icons Masters At Work; UK Drum and Bass trailblazer LTJ Bukem; Detroit Techno innovator Carl Craig performing a special live set; Techno pioneer Robert Hood (off the back of his latest compilation release Variations with Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti) performing under his coveted alias Floorplan; Midwest-born, London-based House music icon and longtime Smartbar (Chicago) resident The Blessed Madonna; UK House and breakbeat veteran Paul Woolford performing under his acclaimed alias Special Request; Spanish rising Techno star Fatima HajjiRegis and Surgeon as Techno masterminds British Murder Boys; Australian-born Ghettohouse superstar Partiboi69 (live) and many others.

These artists join the previously announced lineup featuring a special performance by Goldie (Live Band), award-winning artist and producer James Blake (DJ Set); acclaimed British actor and DJ Idris Elba performing a b2b set with Detroit Techno legend Kevin Saunderson (the two artists have collaborated on Inner City’s singles “We All Move Together” and “No More Looking Back”), plus Honey Dijon, Floating Points, Skream, Sama’ Abdulhadi, I Hate Models, LP Giobbi, Boys Noize b2b VTSS, Gorgon City, DJ Minx, Jaguar and many more. 

As always, the festival puts an emphasis on celebrating the rich musical heritage of its home city by foregrounding some of Detroit’s most adroit DJs, producers, and rising stars, including Detroit Techno’s second wave maestro Stacey Pullen, acclaimed producer, Dirt Tech Records boss and Underground Music Academy founder Waajeed; Electro pioneers DJ 3000DJ GodfatherAux 88 founding member Keith Tucker performing as K-1; House mainstays Delano SmithTerrence ParkerDames BrownDJ Holographic, Stacey Hotwaxx Hale, DJ Cent, plus Drummer B, Rimarkable, Tammy Lakkis, Huey Mnemonic, Fabiola, Something Blue, John Collins, Ataxia b2b Mister Joshooa, LadymonixAugustus Williams and many more.

The festival will once again span three days of diverse and meticulous curation on Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-27, 2024) inside the picturesque Hart Plaza at downtown Detroit’s riverfront. Since its inception, the event has sought to provide fans with programming that offers a variegated experience of electronic music, ranging from dance music’s most in-demand artists, underground mainstays, and notable first-time performers; a potent cross section of seasoned vets and future generations of electronic music. At its heart, Movement is a reverence for the local roots of the culture, treating Detroit as the Techno mecca it is.

This year’s showcases will include a special 30-year anniversary celebration of Goldie’s legendary Metalheadz Records, Carl’s Craig’s traveling party series Detroit Love in collaboration with the iconic UK House label Defected RecordsMasters At Work Present, Kevin Saunderon’s KMS Records, and DJ Minx’s House Your Life. Lineups for the showcases will be announced at a later date. 

VIP attendees will be treated to VIP pop-up sets all three days, featuring Afrobeats and Soul collective House Party; Detroit-based House and Disco label Rocksteady Disco; and A Dub Supreme featuring Ranking Gimp and friends.
