Mau P is having an electrifying year. With huge release after huge release, the Dutch pioneer is back with another groover. This time Mau P comes full circle with a remix of Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Ray Of Solar.’ He has stated that the trio was the reason he got into electronic dance music.
Mau P certainly captures the original sound while infusing his clubhouse into it. You can tell right away when the drop hits the remix has Mau written all over it. He’s a big fan of the pre-drop vocal distortion. The bass hits throughout are tasty as well. The ‘Ray Of Solar’ remix is a fitting successor to ‘Metro’, with which Mau P first explored this style of Afterlife production.
In 2023, the Dutchman has cranked out originals and remixes for dance music’s elite. Mau P started this year with a single song in his discography, ‘Drugs From Amsterdam.’ Fast forward eight months and it’s filled with remixes for Calvin Harris, the Swedish House Mafia, and Armand van Helden. Mau P had this to say about this remix:
“Music is definitely in my DNA but I know for a fact that there wouldn’t be a Mau P without those early influences by the Swedish House Mafia. They’re the reason I went down this path and this remix is truly a full circle moment.”
