Parklife Festival Cuts Off Music Due to Severe Thunderstorms

Unusual events took place at Parklife Festival this past weekend at Heaton Park in Manchester (England). As a matter of fact, the festival was forced to halt the festivities over forecasts of thunderstorms and torrential rain. Organizers had to cut off the power to its different stages on Sunday, the final day of the event.

Parklife told attendees to stay three meters away from metal structures via stage screens. They also urged fans not to use phones, hold up flags, or selfie sticks. Shortly after, Parklife announced a full show stop and restrictions on admission into the festival due to yellow thunderstorm warnings. The last entry to the festival was also pushed back.

Around 80,000 fans were on the grounds for the weekend. Bolts of lightning have been seen over the festival site after a morning of blazing sunshine. At 5PM, Parklife announced a full return to show as the storm passed but pushed back performances from VTSSShygirlJamz SupernovaChris Stussy, and several more.

The major event takes place every year at Manchester’s Heaton Park and this year’s lineup included performances by Skrillex, Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, FISHER, Sonny Fodera, Fred Again.. and many more.
