Chicago’s hottest new act Azzecca aka Allie DeCastris has dropped another heater. ‘Mantra’ is her second single on Gorgon City’s REALM. Her recent REALM debut ‘Ego Death’ won acclaim from Mixmag, Pete Tong, KCRW, and Kiss FM.
Her recent accolades include a 30 min-mix on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show and DJ Mag North America tipping her as one to watch. Top that all off with her being crowned one of Beatport’s hottest new artists for April, global shows like EDC Las Vegas, Halcyon, and Hard Summer are on the horizon.
‘Mantra’ intercuts an otherworldly vibe – a high, ethereal vocal repeating a widely-used meditative mantra ‘shiva shambho, mahdeva shambho’, going sweet’n’solo in the breakdowns. The drop absolutely rips and will send your feet moving. Choppy synths, all-over melodic arps, and a fast house beat give us a foretaste of summer clubbing and faraway shores.
