Spotify Wrapped has become somewhat of a tradition for music listeners over the past years. The annual personalized look back at your music journey for the past year is now here – as of today, November 30th – and has some new features, as it keeps adding a few each and every year since its creation. Let’s take a quick look at some of them.
If you don’t already know, Spotify Wrapped is an Instagrammable package that calculates all your personal data to serve up a custom accounting of your top artists, songs, and playlists from the past year. Like its predecessor, the 2022 Spotify Wrapped is only accessible on the Spotify mobile app. You can find it on the home screen of the app the next time you open it, underneath your most recent plays.
One of the new features of the year is “Audio Day“, which registers how the user’s listening habits have changed throughout the day. Basically, it breaks down what kind of music you stream over the course of the morning, noon and night. Moreover, Spotify Wrapped also added the “Music Personality” feature, which gives you a personality test using four-letter codes that break down how you listen to music while assigning you one of 16 categories.
Spotify Wrapped is also including messages from artists, in which they thank fans for listening to their music enough to get them in the Wrapped mix. Finally, there is a new feature called “Spotlight” on merchandise and ticketing which sees personalized offerings integrated into the Wrapped Hub and promoted to top fans via in-app notifications and other channels.
