Floridians 18+ Will Be Eligible For Vaccine On April 5

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced new eligibility guidelines for COVID-19 vaccinations in the state on Thursday, March 25. Floridians 18+ will be eligible for the vaccine beginning Monday, April 5.

In the recent announcement, DeSantis also stated, beginning on March 29, Floridians 40+ will be eligible for the vaccine.

Florida continues to see the vaccinated population increase every day. According to the governor, the state is progressing as more people receive the vaccination.

“We’ve now vaccinated over 70% of the roughly 4.4 million seniors living in the state,” DeSantis said. “We’ve also made great progress on those age 60 to 64 and on those age 50 and older, and we’re ready to take this step.”

Florida residents can pre-register for the vaccine at myvaccine.fl.gov. Once registered, they will be contacted when the vaccine of their choice is available in their area.

In addition, residents can call the vaccine preregistration phone number for their county. You can find the contact information here.

As eligibility requirements begin to change, the return of music festivals for Florida residents seems to draw nearer every day. Disco Donnie’s Sunset Music Festival announced moving forward with this year’s event on Memorial Day Weekend. Festival production heads Insomniac also announced a brand new techno festival set to take place on the same weekend. This means you could be vaccinated in time for the III Points x Secret Project event in Miami at the end of April.
