Tomorrowland Holds ‘The Sound of Tomorrow’ DJ Contest

Are you a budding DJ looking to gain some recognition? Now is your time to shine. Tomorrowland is officially hosting an amateur DJ contest titled ‘The Sound of Tomorrow.‘ The festival is looking for the next up-and-coming artist in Western Europe.

Although this year’s music festival was canceled due to the coronavirus and an event ban, Tomorrowland is still in search of talented, full-of-potential DJs. This will help to give these artists some recognition, giving them a platform to showcase their work.

How to Participate in the Contest

Participants are required to create a 20-25 minutes mix and submit it to the ‘The Sound of Tomorrow’ website. The mix should represent what Tomorrowland is all about, which is love, friendship, and unity. They will also be judged by creativity, track selection, technical ability, and popularity. Mixes must be submitted by June 10th at 23.59 CET. If you are interested in taking part in the contest, then make sure to check out the official website.

Only four DJs will make it onto the next round of the contest. Once the winners have been chosen, they will battle it out and perform live across Tomorrowland’s social media channels. They will also be performing in front of a panel of well-known DJs. This round will take place on Tuesday, July 7th. The winner that is chosen will then be awarded not only with a performance slot for Tomorrowland 2021, but the opportunity to release a remix on Fedde Le Grand’s label, Darklight Recordings.

DJ/producer Fedde Le Grand will be playing a role in this contest as well. He will not only be choosing the finalists, but he will also be taking part in the final live stream. Ultimately, he will be giving advice on how to start up in music production.
