Rothbury Says Electric Forest Can’t Postpone 2020 Event, Forces Cancellation [UPDATED]

UPDATE: As of this evening, the Rothbury City Council has rejected the event’s request to postpone to September 2020. Thus, Electric Forest will not happen in 2020. We hope to see its return in 2021.

Recently, rumors indicated there was a possibility that Electric Forest would be postponed. Although there was no official comment on the issue, it seems that the postponement is coming.

The Rothbury Village Council will be holding a meeting today at 6 PM to discuss a change of dates for Electric Forest. There is no information as to which new dates will be planned. However, recent rumors speculated that it would be changed to September 10th-13th. We will know more once the meeting takes place.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the cancellation and postponement of many popular festivals around the world. Some of these events are Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Ultra Music Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, and more. Most summer music festivals will not be taking place as scheduled. Therefore, it is no surprise that Electric Forest would soon be affected.
