All Summer Dutch Festivals Canceled

Hardstyle family, today is the day none of us wanted to happen. We know that coronavirus has taken every single event and festival away from us. We knew this day was coming, and it’s finally here. Defqon. 1 and many other festivals have officially been postponed until June 2021.

Along with that, all other Dutch festivals supposed to take place throughout September have been canceled. This includes Awakenings, Dominator. Mysteryland, Intents Festival, and Decibel Outdoor.

Mark Rutte, the Dutch Prime Minister, made a declaration today in a press conference stating that all events happening in The Netherlands will not be able to proceed. This ban continues up until September 1st, 2020.

This one hurt the most because this affects every single hard dance festival in the motherland, the Netherlands. I’m sorry I can’t bring you better news about festival season, but this is for the safety of us, the Weekend Warriors. STAY HOME, wash your hands, practice social distancing, and DO NOT protest stay-at-home orders. Hopefully we’ll be back under the sun at at European festivals soon.

Dear Weekend Warriors, It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that, due to the global COVID-19 developments and the necessary precautions taken by the authorities, the 2020 edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival will be postponed to 2021. Words cannot describe how we feel about this news. For months, we’ve been working around the clock to provide you with the ultimate festival experience together with our artists, creators and warriors. We cannot imagine a summer without Defqon.1, however, your health and safety is the top priority. It is in times like these that we must stay united as one tribe. Together, we stand. Your Defqon.1 order will stay valid, meaning that you’ll automatically have access to Defqon.1 Primal Energy in 2021, which will take place last weekend of June*. This applies to all visitors, including those who ordered a Travel & Stay Package. All ticket buyers will be contacted personally by email with detailed information before May 23rd, 2020. Dear Dominators, Today, April 21st, the Dutch government announced an extension of its measures concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. All events scheduled to take place until September 1st are forced to be postponed. So, with a lot of pain in our hearts we have to inform you that Dominator Festival cannot take place on July 18th 2020 and will therefore be moved to July 17th 2021. Our newly launched campsite will return with the same pre-party line-up on Friday as announced earlier. This news was to be expected, but obviously hit our team hard. Dominator is THE hardcore festival in the world and our team members work really hard year-round to create a home to hundreds of thousands of hardcore souls from all over the world. We hoped with all our hearts that we could welcome you this year. However, the health and safety of you, our visitors, artists, staff and loved ones is what matters the most and therefore we understand this decision. Even though the situation is beyond our control, we sincerely hope for your understanding. Tickets and travel packages that have already been purchased will remain valid for the edition on July 17th, 2021. All ticket buyers will be contacted personally by email within the following days regarding the next steps. Make sure you also check your spam folder.
