The EDM community prides itself of following the P.L.U.R philosophy. Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect stand as the bases for this community in order to have a harmonious space in which everyone can enjoy themselves. Certainly, the world could use some P.L.U.R. Right now.

Norwegian DJ/Producer ‘Kygo’s’ ‘Utopia’ concert in favor and support of the LGBTQ community might be the best example of the EDM industry/community engaging P.L.U.R philosophy in everyday life.

‘Utopia’

Earlier this summer, Kygo announce he would be performing and headlining a special new show ‘Utopia’ during World Pride in New York City. With performances from the singer and American songwriter ‘Kiiara’, ‘Cirque du Soleil’ and many others, the ‘Jacob Javits Center’ put on an amazing show. The whole place felt the connection from the hand of the Norwegian DJ, who declared “Love is love. It was an honor to be part of it'” Making history, Kygo also debuted his posthumous remix for the song ‘Higher Love’ from artist ‘Whitney Houston

Spreading the P.L.U.R Philosophy

Kygo’s new show brought not only an amazing experience but also raised a boatload of money for charitable groups. The event raised more than $110,000 dollars, in fact. All the earnings from the Uthopia festival will help a series of LGTBQ organizations.

So honored to debut ‘Higher Love’ at @nycpride 20 years after @whitneyhouston performed the same event ❤️
