As Tomorrowland enters day 2 of its 15th Anniversary, the world has learned that tragedy struck on its first night. A 27-year-old Indian man died in the hospital after the first night, the festival has confirmed.
Antwerp University Hospital says that 4 were brought to the intensive care unit on Friday night. However, the Indian man suffered cardiac arrest at the mainstage area of the festival, and had been resuscitated before passing away in the hospital. The cause of death is unknown at this time. The status of the other 3 was not mentioned.
It is very unfortunate that something like this should have happened on the first day of the festival. We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased”.

The hospital staff took the opportunity to remind festivalgoers that if they ever feel unwell to immediately seek help. Also those who see anybody in distress should look out for them and help when they can. Take care of each other out there!
