Mad Decent Block Party Festival Cancelled

Just 10 days before the event, the Mad Decent Block Party Festival has been cancelled. The festival set to take place over July 20th and 21st at Gillette Stadium announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

The Mad Decent Block party Festival announcement cited “circumstances beyond our control” as the cause for cancellation. According to the statement, all parties involved in the event agreed that moving forward would’ve caused a “disservice to fans and artists”.

Due to the Mad Decent Block Party Festival cancellation, refunds will be issued. Refunds are set to be processed in 7-10 days. But many ticket holders still want to know the real reason behind the cancellation.

Headliners of the festival included Billie Eilish, G-Eazy, Major Lazer and Miguel. The fully named Super Mega Ultra Giant Mad Decent Festival also had activities planned besides music. Festival goers could enjoy go-karts, paintball and a bounce house.

There’s been no word yet from Diplo‘s personal account regarding the event or its cancellation. This is the second festival cancelled with Major Lazer as a headliner. Float Fest was set to take place in Texas, but cancelled due to construction issues.
