Above & Beyond’s Alchemy was one of the best songs to come from ‘Group Therapy’ and has cemented its status a big fan favorite. Now we see a very different take on ‘Alchemy’ courtesy of the ‘Techno Malware Maestro’. i_o has stunned with releases like ‘Let Me Go’ & his ‘Death by Techno’ EP and his Alchemy rework is no exception.
‘Hacking’ his way to the top i_o has been on a roll recently with sets at Beyond Wonderland & Ultra Miami with no sight of slowing down. I_o first debuted the remix back in February & fans have been waiting for it since.
Where the original is this blissful trance anthem this song is the exact opposite. The song incorporates a lot of i_o’s techno influences while still retaining the soul of the original. The remix has been an absolute killer every time he’s played it out live. Featuring a much more stripped out compared to the original − filled with thumping drums the song pushes towards a more darker vibe than ever before. All in all, i_o perfectly hacked the original to create this stellar remix.
