Marshmello Observed a Moment of Silence for Soldiers Killed in Terror Attack

Throughout the years, Marshmello has slowly been winning over people’s approvals due to his hard work, catchy singles, creative performances (like with his incredibly unique Fortnite set), and of course, his contagious charm. Recently, the American producer has gained even more popularity, love and respect because of his performance at the Vh1 Supersonic Festival in Pune on Sunday, February 17, 2019.

As some of you may know, this past Thursday, February 14, 2019, over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers were tragically killed in a terror attack in Pulwama. A Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist plotted to drive a vehicle equipped with 60 kg of RDX explosives right by a security convoy located directly on the Jammu-Srinagar highway and then would trigger the explosives. Tragically, the plan was put into effect, resulting in the state’s worst attack in decades.

It’s not very common that we see DJs acknowledge these tragedies. Following the attack, Marshmello tweeted his sincerest condolences to the victims, resulting in a slew of individuals expressing their deepest thoughts and prayers as well.

Taking his prayers to the stage, the beloved producer observed a two-minute silence for the CRPF soldiers that were killed during the attack before kicking off his set. Furthermore, during the special moment, an Indian flag was projected in the background while the attendees remembers those who were affected.

The memorable moment sparked a flow of appreciation via the ‘Alone’ musician’s social media channels. As mentioned, it’s not every day that we see our favorite EDM heavyweights shine the light on important news occurring around the globe. That said, props to Marshmello for this notable act, and we hope that more artists follow suit in the future.
