Dirtybird Records is back again with an absolute banger. The SoCal label’s first release of 2019 is a new collaboration from Will Clarke and Nick Monaco titled ‘Like A Girl’, and it sets an incredibly high bar for the rest of the year.
The track infuses video game-esque synths with a beating bassline and a quirky, experimental vibe overall. It’s dark and driving, weird and sinister, and a seriously catchy track that will undoubtedly make dancefloors across the globe explode.
We’re a huge fan of the concept behind the track, too. In such a male-dominated space, recognizing the badassery that is the female and breaking down the heteronormativity that has become so prominent in dance music is huge. Will and Nick, for this, we salute you.
