Frech Montana Ignites Crowd in Norway With Avicii Tribute

Known for becoming what many would call a pioneer for the dance community, Avicii and his music lives on. From festivals, to sold out shows, and even podcasts, the late megastar continues to be honored around the globe as the community continues to mourn his passing.

The latest tribute, comes from a small festival in Norway by the name Landtreff Stravenger. In what surprised many, French Montana dropped Avicii’s most memorable track ‘Wake Me Up‘ during his performance, leaving the crowd in pure electricity. Montana posted a video to his Instagram with the caption “YOU WAS SHINING THROUGH THESE DARK CLOUDS ON US !! @Avicii WHAT A POWERFUL MORNING”. Montana’s DJ Duffey, posted her own video of the tribute as well with the caption “@Avicii I felt you on stage today! It was magical for me and French RIP”. To watch the crowd explode with such ebullience in both videos is powerful beyond words. This is the most recent in a series of moving tributes we’ve seen throughout the past two weeks.

On April 24th Swedish Choir Conductor Gabriel Forss provided us with another powerful moment. A video of a thousand person choir he was conducting, performing an accapella version of ‘Wake Me Up’ providing the crowd with an ardent and touching moment.

Given the reactions from the community, it’s safe to say that despite his early departure from us, the emotions Avicii was able to convey through his work will thrive until the end of time.
