Romain Gavras is best known for directing incredible films and controversial music videos such as M.I.A.’s “Born Free” and working with Jay Z. His films and music videos often portray a gritty and realistic setting coupled with flashy high energy content. He won two MTV Video Music Awards in 2012 for Best Cinematography and Best Direction, both for the “Bad Girls” video he directed for M.I.A.
This week, he announced his new film “The World Is Yours” and has tapped Jamie xx and SebastiAn to deliver the epic soundtrack to match the equally astonishing visuals. The film will premiere at Cannes Film Festival this year, which is being held from May 8-19. One can expect nothing short of a visual and sonic journey from the young mastermind behind “Our Day Will Come” and the Justice documentary A Cross The Universe, Gavras.
