The Weeknd’s New Album Features Skrillex, Gesaffelstein, and More

It’s been nearly 18 months since The Weeknd dropped his most recent album, Starboy, and today, the wait is finally over.

The album My Dear Melancholy has been highly anticipated by fans all over social media, especially since he is headlining so many festivals this summer.

The six-track composition is executively produced by The Weeknd and Frank Dukes. The coolest part? It includes not one, but two collaborations with Gesaffelstein, as well as production by Daft Punk‘s, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, and even Skrillex. As you may remember, The Weeknd has a history of working with the dance music community, as he and Daft Punk collaborated his last album as well. The songs, “Starboy”, as well as “I Feel It Coming”, were both instant hits, as fans fell in love with the classic vocoder hooks created by the robots.

This time around, Skrillex helps on the tune, “Wasted Times“, which is without a doubt the funkiest song on the EP. This album just makes me even more excited for this summer festival season. Also, on the track, “Hurt You“, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo is listed alongside Gesaffelstein as a producer.
