QUIX has really seen his stock take off in 2017. Initially receiving significant recognition from Mad Decent in 2015, the native of New Zealand successfully made his mark on the scene in clubs across New Zealand and Australia, before bringing his aggressive and wonky style of bass and trap music stateside in 2016. In 2017, QUIX released his debut EP, smashed a Diplo & Friends mix, was featured on Boombox Cartel’s debut EP & Krane’s debut album, and collaborated on tracks with the likes of Ekali, Loudpvck and What So Not. After all that, there’s still more. With the arrival of the holidays, QUIX is still in a giving mood; in celebration of Thanksgiving, he has just released a brand new pack of edits, including his highly sought after version of Excision’s “Throwin’ Elbows,” a track that bass music fans have undoubtedly heard in various sets over the last few months.
Along with his nasty Excision flip, the new remix pack includes heavy trap mashups of QUIX’s own production underneath quintessential mid-2000s pop punk tracks “Misery” by Paramore & “Thnks fr th Mmrs” by Fall Out Boy, as well as pieces of tracks by Boombox Cartel & NGHTMRE. You can download all of the edits for free at the link below, and if you haven’t yet, give his debut EP Heaps Cool a listen below.
