The once picturesque simple country of Sweden is under siege. The towns are filled with violence, crimes, and sexual assaults. Certain areas of the country have become known as “no-go zones” due to the risk of attack. This information recently entered the public debate when President Trump drew a huge light onto the problems in Sweden. Now even those who deny the problems can see the scary realities touching our communities.
The migrants flowing into Sweden are not raised in our progressive belief system, which includes respect towards women. As a result, Sweden has seen an astronomic rise in rapes, to the point where the country literally can’t prevent rapes in the middle of music festivals. So far rather than doing the obvious, Sweden’s Bravalla Festival decided to cancel to avoid the onslaught.
However this Swedish music festival finally thinks they can solve the problem by banning men. While there might be a few other very important characteristic all of the rapists at these festivals share, Bravalla is casting the widest possible net and planning a women-only festival. It is strange, however, that mass festival rape does not appear to be a global phenomena even with men present. It all started when a Swedish comedian named Emma Knyckare commented “What do you think about putting together a really cool festival where only non-men are welcome that we’ll run until ALL men have learned how to behave themselves?” Bravalla’s organizers took this to heart and finally found their panacea, deciding to work with Knyckare to make this females-only festival.
“Sweden’s first man-free rock festival will see the light next summer. In the coming days I’ll bring together a solid group of talented organisers and project leaders to form the festival organisers, then you’ll hear from everyone again when it’s time to move forward.”
