Carl Cox Returns To Vinyl For End-of-Residency Party At Space Ibiza

photo coxymainscrap_zpsrfbedeiy.jpgWorld renowned DJ Carl Cox stunned his fans when earlier this year he announced that he would be ending his 15 year residency at Space Ibiza. Cox felt the desire to end his residency after Space announced it’s plans to close, and reopen under new management.

He boldly stated how he feels that “Ibiza has turned into the new Vegas of Spain.” And further discussed the fact that at Space’s closing, he feels that the very fabric of Ibiza’s culture would soon be disrupted.

To pay homage to the iconic club, along with the memories and contributions it has made to global dance music culture, Cox will be giving it a proper send off with a lengthy all vinyl set this coming Tuesday, September 20th. When asked about his upcoming performance, Cox stated:

“I want to take things back and pay homage to all those years at Space spinning records. I want to show respect to those older tunes, dig out some of my old vinyl and play them alongside new tunes. A lot of the crowd probably won’t have even heard them before, so it’s a way of showing the music is still relevant.”

Although his decision to end his residency is weighing heavily in the hearts of many, Cox’s final performance will be truly something special, and just further the ongoing legacy of the iconic club Space.
