There have been a recorded 100+ arrests at day 1 of this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. A spokesperson for Court County Sheriff’s Office stated that the majority of the arrests were from illegal drug use, possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication & disorderly conduct (the usual festival mischief). Luckily, there haven’t been any medical emergencies that have been reported as of yesterday.
There are over 100,000 attendees at this year’s Bonnaroo so the local police department and highway patrols will be on high alert for more activity that may occur. Arrests have gone up from the last two years where in 2014 there were 60 arrests and in 2015 there were 74. You’ll notice that this year beat those yearly totals in just one day. Hopefully arrests will slow down during the last days of the festival and the music, art and good vibes take over.
