IMS Announces Visionaries Contest - The Search for Innovators in the Music Business
The International Music Summit – the de-facto TED talk of the dance music world (and of which Pete Tong co-founded), has today announced the second annual iteration of its pioneering Visionaries contest. The Visionaries contest is simple – anyone in the world under the age of 25 and under can submit a video answers a simple question: How would you innovate the music industry. The entrant with the best submission will be flown out to either IMS ENGAGE in LA or IMA Ibiza (clearly in Ibiza), and given the chance to give a keynote speech in front of industry luminaries, 6 months of mentorship from leaders in the industry, and a chance to directly apply to three internships in the music business. To put it simply, the prize is a starter kit to jumpstarting a career in music.

This is a proven contest, too – check out what last year’s winner had to say:

“Visionaries has supplied the valuable opportunity for my interest in the electronic music to truly flourish into a career. After winning the inaugural Visionaries in 2015, my ideas transformed into real conversations with leaders of the industry and eventually formed into a position with two principal forces in electronic music. Today, I’m proud to be part of the IMS team as the Content Manager and the West Coast Editor of Mixmag – two opportunities afforded to me thanks to Visionaries.”
– Valerie Lee, IMS Engage Visionaries winner 2015
