Lollapalooza Expands To 4 Days For 25th Anniversary

Illinois’ biggest music festival just got bigger. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Lollapalooza has announced that their 2016 festival will expand to four days, spanning from Thursday, July 28 to Sunday, July 31. The festival, which takes place in Chicago’s historic Grant Park, boasts a beautiful venue and stellar lineups year after year. For its 25th birthday, the event organizers have promised a fantastic party featuring an abundance of talent.

Last year’s lineup brought an incredible array of electronic artists to the table such as Kaskade, Bassnectar, Dillon Francis, Odesza, Nero and more. However, Lollapalooza is well known for the diversity of artists, which was apparent in other artists such as Paul McCartney, Marina & The Diamonds, Sam Smith, Kid Cudi and many more. In 2016, they are sure to put together yet another crowd-pleasing roster full of established and upcoming artists.

Festival founder Perry Farrell stated on the Lollapalooza website, “It’s our 25th Anniversary and we wanted to do something really special and different for our fans. There’s a lot of really great music coming out in 2016; with the abundance of talent that wanted to help us celebrate 25 years we got to thinking…‘How are we going to fit all those great artists in one weekend?’ Then we thought about what a special day Thursday has become. When the party can’t wait for the weekend, the movers and shakers make it happen on Thursday! So, we’ve put together an entire additional day of music to celebrate our milestone year. It’s going to be a fantastic party!”

Tickets go on sale next spring with 4-day General Admission passes starting at $335 and single day General Admission tickets starting at $120. For more information, visit the Lollapalooza website.
