The Jane Doze ft. CURTAINS – Lights Go Down

It’s easy to talk about how taking big risks is paramount to truly achieving success in life. That risk-averse actions can only take you so far, and sometimes you just have to dive into the deep end with little but hope on one shoulder and passion on the other. This is very easily said, and not so easily done. If you’re stuck in a rut, seeking opportunity through risk, but can’t seem to make the move for it, then look no further than to The Jane Doze for that final push. In 2013 the duo left their desks for the decks, starting with humble mashups, an ear for some damn-fine melodies, and a commendable pair of vocals. Since then, Claire & Jen have grown exponentially in style and musical maturity, and it looks like taking that dive was the right call.

After a series of successful remixes, most notably their rather saucy Becky GShower‘ mix, the two are back with a powerful original, ‘Lights Go Down’. With its inspiration rooted deep in the duo’s beginnings together, ‘Lights Go Down’ is a classically arranged progressive heart-lifter; clean vocals, a driving bass-line, and a sky high soaring melody is a tried and true combo for success, and they’ve pulled this off beautifully.

It should be noted that The Jane Doze are doing more than releasing an uplifting prog-hit with ‘Lights Go Down’, as they had this to say about its sales:

“Lights Go Down” is about showing up, giving a damn, and loving your people without question. We all find ourselves in the dark, it’s how we pick ourselves up and push on that defines us. In keeping with this message, we are going to donate a portion of the track’s sales to First Descents. First Descents provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults affected by cancer.”
