Kehlani – Til The Morning (Snakehips Remix)
A month after the release of their Forever (Pt. II) EP, Snakehips has released another remix, this time of Kehlani’s ‘Til The Morning‘. The London-based duo continue to prove their pedigree for moody, smooth trap with their new release.
The song’s layers of jagged, low-attack synths miraculously manages to make a silky sound, further testifying to their technical sense in mixing instruments. The diversity of instruments across the track makes their harmony more impressive, as deployed samples never clash with one another. The duo treats Kehlani’s vocals with the same attention. Vocal effects on the harder-hitting lines emphasize their vulgarity with a deep vocoder. For softer lines, Snakehips compliments the lyrics with simple, toned down instrumentals. After all lyrics have been exhausted, the song’s ending explores further synths and percolating arpeggiators, thus keeping the track interesting from start to end.
