Kick off the new year by putting a new spin on the Dillon Francis remix of deadmau5’s “Some Chords.” The mau5 and Beatport announced they would be holding a remix competition and are currently accepting submissions. It may take some imagination to improve Dillon’s sick interpretation of 2010’s 4×4=12 opening track, but the incentive is huge. The grand prize winner will have their remix released on deadmau5’s label mau5trap and made available on Beatport. The grand prize winner will also receive tons of enviable technology including an Antelope Audio Zen Studio Portable Interface, an Audio Damage Grainshift and eight more tools guaranteed to up your game as a producer. Submissions will be accepted through January 26th and voting will run from January 27th through February 9th. Judging will take place from February 10th through February 23rd before the grand prize winner is announced on February 24th.
