Halloween weekend is complete, and with its passing came a barrage of massive events and legendary performances. This Halloween season saw bigs shows from Knife Party, a whole host of artists at Escape: All Hallow’s Eve, an antic filled Halloween Skrillex performance, and O’ so much more. Too much to put in one post really. HARD‘s Day of the Dead was quite possibly the biggest event from the past week, if not simply for its stacked lineup then for an epic b2b set from Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz. Despite some alleged claims that the show was a let down, there’s still been quite a bit of positive buzz surrounding the performance.
Perhaps Prdyz wanted to keep things true to his style, because the duo never collaborated on a set plan, despite Deadmau5 reaching out before hand. This lead to some mixed reviews on Reddit, but the released tracklist should prove how good their set really was. Well now there’s no need for wondering. The internet has come through yet again, and several recordings of the Mau5ville set have made their way online. With the release of Mau5’s new album While 1<2 fresh in our minds, and the mind-boggling EPIC 3.0 set from Prdyz in very recent memory, there was a lot of hype to live up to for new music and IDs, and boy were we satisfied. The two pumped new hits and remixes out of the DOTD speakers like never before, and blended their styles with ease. This two hour Mau5ville set has us craving even more from them (an album guys, do it) but for now we’ll just have to settle for the set alone. The trade off is you get visuals and sound quality for only 55 minutes.
