Israeli producer Jerome Isma-Ae and his good friend Roy Ströbel (also known as Strobe) have given a dance classic from 1997 a new spin… again. The duo first reinvented Timo Maas and Martin Buttrich’s 1997 release in 2008. Six years later, history has repeated itself and “Vila Nova” is back. The dreamy, almost Eagles-like guitar and the transfixing vocals are preserved while the contemporary beat takes a dive into deeper territory than its 2008 counterpart, resulting in an enticing juxtaposition, a release that is at once nostalgic and progressive.
