Before we begin to dive deeper into the absolutely hilarity that is Paris Hilton winning an award of any kind, other then her ability to shop for overpriced things (including lots and lots of DJ equipment), this award she won doesn’t really mean much.

This past weekend, a vote was taken amongst the youth population in France for a wide range of DJ awards for the radio station, NRJ. Being held in Monaco for the kickoff of the Monaco International Clubbing Show, Ms.Hilton was on hand for the award ceremony where she was pitted against the likes of Nervo and Krewella, for “Best Female DJ” award.

With both duo’s having massive years and sitting in rather high positions in the DJ Mag Top 100, to see neither of those duo’s prevail is absolutely shocking. Well, it isn’t that shocking considering Paris won the award for “Best Breakthrough DJ of the Year” in 2013, for the same NRJ awards. Either the youth of France is drinking something, we aren’t, or they are just flat out not paying attention to anything going on within the electronic dance music world.

Well on that note, congrats to Paris Hilton on winning this absolutely meaningless award and keep on racking in the big bucks for shows people will hopefully stop attending.
