Electric Daisy Carnival has been compared to and unofficially deemed as this generation’s Woodstock.  Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac, is attempting to make the New York edition of EDC just that by trying to move it to a new home in Saugerties, New York, where Woodstock ’94(above pic) was held.  Although the paperwork and proper licensing are still in progress, we do know that EDC NY will be held during Memorial Day Weekend in 2014, as opposed to the normal mid-May dates.  This past Memorial Day Weekend, EDC traveled to Chicago, but was met with irate complaints from the surrounding locals concerning noise.  Whether EDC Chicago happens again, and if it does, when and where, is yet to be determined. Pasquale made another promising announcement that EDC NY will be receiving major upgrades with regards to production, which comes as welcome news for those who were less than impressed by the recent one.  Not only will it become a 3 day camping festival with larger grounds, but EDC NY will also be getting the luminous owl  from EDC Las Vegas’ Kinetic Field. Similarly, headliners attending EDC Las Vegas will be getting an entirely new setup next year as well.
