Cash Cash teamed up with Valley to give Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” a spunky facelift, not an easy feat considering the original topped UK charts four weeks in a row and beat out Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” for most streams on Spotify UK. The Cash Cash trio collaborating with electronic duo Valley – consisting of DJs Gazzo and Kalkutta – seems like a lot of cooks in the kitchen for one song, but the rendition is surprisingly levelheaded and a pleasant divergence from Cash Cash’s extremely pop tone. Though you may feel cheated without the grandeur symphonic intro or the powerful chorus, the track is a unique composition of the original’s signature elements that I think you’ll find refreshing to hear in a new light. To be released soon, the remix is just an inkling of what’s to come in Clean Bandit’s release of their album New Eyes on June 17th!
