According to Eriksson, Liam’s treatment is going well so far, but the financial responsibility has largely fallen on Filippo Moretti, the trainer who has looked after Liam since Tim Bergling’s death in 2018. The campaign is meant to ease that burden and ensure Liam’s care continues without financial strain on Moretti.

In the fundraiser’s description, Eriksson writes that Bergling once told him Liam was his first experience of unconditional love. That detail alone explains why the dog has stuck around in fan conversations years after Avicii’s passing. Bergling, who died by suicide in 2018 at age 28 following a long struggle with anxiety tied to an unrelenting tour schedule, rarely spoke publicly about his personal life outside of music. Liam was one of the few constants fans got to see.

Eriksson notes that Liam played a central role in what he calls ‘The Crowning of Prince Liam,’ a road trip the two took together that doubled as the backdrop for the creation of Avicii’s track ‘Without You.’ He also describes the dog as a source of comfort for Bergling during periods of anxiety, reinforcing the idea that Liam wasn’t just a pet but part of the emotional support system around one of dance music’s most scrutinized touring schedules.

Eriksson says donations raised will first go toward Liam’s medical treatment and day-to-day care. If the campaign raises more than what’s needed, the remaining funds would go toward helping Moretti and Liam meet some of the fans who have followed the dog’s life since Bergling’s death.

Those interested in contributing can donate to Liam’s cause through the GoFundMe page here.

‘Forever Yours – Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version‘ was produced by Tim Bergling and Marcus Thunberg Wessel with vocals performed by Sandro Cavazza. It is quintessential Avicii at his best, exciting the crowd and capturing the electric energy of his performance. The official single preserves the magic of Tim’s live performances and celebrates the enduring bond between Avicii and his fans.

Because the release has been so popular, Avicii’s music has also seen a huge boost in streaming. I spent a whole day listening to him right after watching it so it makes sense. According to Billboard, Avicii’s global streaming numbers have risen by 63.9%. Some of his most well-known songs such as Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, and The Nights have enjoyed the biggest growth.

Even though Avicii passed almost 7 years ago, he still has roughly 37 million monthly listeners on Spotify. That number means he is the 111th most-played artist on Spotify currently which is a remarkable feat. According to Forbes, all 3 of Avicii’s albums have entered the United Kingdom’s Official Dance Albums Chart.

It is amazing to see all the love and support he has gotten over the years. The documentary was both beautiful and sad watching his rise and fall in real time. I loved the touch of him narrating it. It was almost like he was still with us.

The first track would’ve followed up shortly after the now-unforgettable smash hit, ‘Wake Me Up’, and this track has an amazing acoustic guitar riff that perfectly complements Blacc’s memorable vocals. The second track incorporates more synth and leads, especially with the added firepower coming from Nervo, and this track feels like an early 2010s house banger that many fans have come to love and appreciate. These two tracks have shown that even though the iconic Swedish producer is no longer here physically in this world, his music will always stay strong and beloved for many generations to come. Both long-lost tracks are available for all to download on the ‘Avicii Unreleased Library’ YouTube channel.

‘Hey Brother’ hit one billion streams in May and ‘Wake Me Up’ reached two billion last August. ‘The Nights’, ‘Waiting For Love’, and ‘Without You’ have also all received this accolade. Avicii’s Instagram announced the news this week and had this to say:

The new Avicci documentary will explore Tim Bergling’s life like never before. Premiering at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival in April, Avicii – I’m Tim, goes through his own words, witnessing the journey of a shy but prodigious musical talent who would soon become one of the defining artists of his generation.

This year, a new documentary following the rise and fall of Avicii debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, providing new insights into his life as well as reigniting the public interest in his final days. Now, new details have emerged from his final phone call to his family before his unfortunate passing. Tim had previously stated that his time in rehab, “were my true vacations, as depressing as it might sound.”

His final trip was to Oman with a friend. Tim would refuse to eat, speak, or take refuge from the sun, a concern that caused the friend to call the producer’s father worried.

During the trip, his mental state deteriorated, and Avicii called another family member. The phone call was said to be so depressing, that the individual immediately left Sweden, taking a plane to Oman in hopes of reaching Tim. Unfortunately, the plane landed two hours after he had already taken his own life.

We hope he is finally able to rest in peace.

Recently, the internet saw another clip in which time held its breath: Avicii, the legendary Swedish producer, playing at, what would become, one of the limited gigs he’d play along his tragically short life. The ten-minute clip features his set at the Tallriken in Malmo, dated August 2016, and shows him performing four tracks: ‘Without You’, ‘Hey Brother’, ‘Shame On Me’, and ‘You Make Me’. The footage, initially an Avicii Experience tribute museum exclusive, has now been made accessible to a wider audience.

Prior to his passing in April 2018, Tim was an icon of Dance music, learning to innovate through thick and thin. “Innovating” is a word that is so cheesily used these days, but trust me, Avicii was miles ahead of the curve, even receiving backlash on his most successful ‘Wake Me Up’ for a never-before-seen blend of Country and Dance music. That same song, along with other four of his discography, have now scored more than a billion streams on Spotify alone.

Klas Bergling

A BBC interview was directed towards Avicii’s father, Klas Bergling, in which he opened up about the times and events surrounding his son’s death. “I miss him every minute“, he says. “I talk to him every day. But, I admit, I get angry at him sometimes. Why did you do it? Why did you leave us?“. The interview shows Klas like never before, revealing memories and moments from Tim’s story that often happened outside the fire-filled stages and joyful social media posts.

Avicii’s father talks about his point of view whenever Tim went touring, how substances sometimes became his son’s escape to the trying times he was going through in between shows, and, ultimately, reflects on events following his decease, such as the release of Avicii’s posthumous album, Tim, and a concert held in his memory, among others.

Fans of the late EDM superstar Avicii can now experience a visual narrative of his life and career. The official Avicii online shop has released a photobook available for international fans. It captures the essence of Avicii’s journey from his early days to becoming a global icon in electronic dance music. Avicii: The Life and Music of Tim Bergling is now available for purchase.

The book is filled with a collection of photographs that reveal not only Avicii’s public triumphs but also private moments seldom shared with the world. These images chronicle his evolution from a young music enthusiast to a pioneering DJ and producer.

In partnership with the Tim Bergling Foundation, the photobook serves a greater purpose beyond remembrance. Established by Avicii’s family in 2019, the foundation dedicates itself to addressing mental health issues and preventing suicide among youth. Proceeds from the photobook sales will directly support these vital initiatives.

Avicii’s parents, Klas Bergling and Anki Lidén expressed their pride in commemorating their son’s impact through this publication. “Tim’s music and legacy continue to resonate deeply with fans around the world” they stated.

The book’s narrative poses reflective questions about the makings of a star and the moments that define a legacy. It illustrates how Avicii’s signature performances and music redefined the EDM genre, leaving an enduring influence on artists and fans alike.

This follows the earlier release of Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii by Måns Mosesson in 2021. The biography offers a candid look at Avicii’s life, complementing the visual storytelling of the photo book.

Adding to the tributes, the documentary detailing Avicii’s artistic journey made its debut at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
