<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Palm Tree Music Festival</strong> returned to<strong> The Hamptons </strong>for the 3rd straight year. I have had the pleasure to watch this festival grow from its <strong><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/2021/09/event-review-palm-tree-music-festival-lights-up-the-hamptons/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">inception</a></strong> and every year it gets bigger and better. Taking place at <strong>Francis S Gabreski Airport</strong> in <strong>Westhampton</strong>, the grounds are perfect for a <strong>summer festival</strong>. There is more than enough space for fun and dancing. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This year&#8217;s edition featured possibly its best line-up yet. Festival founder <strong>Kygo</strong> was of course on the line-up and joining him were <strong>Calvin Harris, Loud Luxury,</strong> <strong>Sam Feldt, Chantel Jeffries, Frank Walker, and Xandra</strong>. The Hamptons represent a special place for the <strong><a href="https://palmtreecrew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Palm Tree Crew</a></strong>; it is of course where it all began in <strong>2021. </strong>It is the perfect <strong>tropical</strong> location for the brand and a special day awaited everyone. I can&#8217;t wait for this festival to return once again.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-scaled.jpg"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="961" height="1024" src="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-961x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-336960" srcset="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-961x1024.jpg 961w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-282x300.jpg 282w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-768x818.jpg 768w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-1442x1536.jpg 1442w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-scaled.jpg 1922w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-696x742.jpg 696w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-1068x1138.jpg 1068w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-394x420.jpg 394w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/MaKJjZBE-1920x2046.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 961px) 100vw, 961px" /></a></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-festival-grounds">The Festival Grounds</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are not many places that are perfectly built for a festival but I believe Francis S Gabreski Airport is one of them. It is situated in a<strong> hilly meadow</strong> with a <strong>landscape</strong> of <strong>trees</strong> surrounding the stage. The festival was the perfect level of crowded. There was a <strong>happy</strong> energy in everyone and really plenty of dancing room. You could walk around to any of the many food and drink options. The best perk was never having to wait too long to to the bathroom.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">All tickets came with&nbsp;<strong>unlimited drinks and alcohol.</strong> There are not many festivals doing this right now and I am a big fan. There were countless vendors including <strong>The Cantina Brought to You by Diageo, Lucky Brand &amp; Cotton Company, Juicy Couture, Aviator Nation, PUMA, Whispering Angel, COACH, Eva NYC, SmartSweets, Veuve Clicquot, Long Drink, , ghost.xyz, Bison Union, Essentia, Heineken, Blue Point, and Blade.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>CELSIUS</strong> brought a desert oasis for people to chill in. There was even a wellness sanctuary/boxing center by<strong> ghost.xyz</strong>. I loved all the little stands that presented different drinks. It feels like you are at a <strong>luxurious</strong> <strong>festival</strong> and I would come back to this location in a heartbeat for a concert. To top it all off was a collection of <strong>carnival</strong> <strong>rides</strong> including everyone&#8217;s favorite <strong>Ferris</strong> <strong>wheel</strong>. It allowed you to get a beautiful bird eye view of the stage. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-scaled.jpg"><img decoding="async" width="819" height="1024" src="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-819x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-336957" srcset="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-240x300.jpg 240w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-768x960.jpg 768w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-1229x1536.jpg 1229w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-scaled.jpg 1638w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-696x870.jpg 696w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-1068x1335.jpg 1068w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-336x420.jpg 336w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/QVVtyJdc-1920x2400.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px" /></a></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kygo and Support</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Calvin Harris, <strong>Kygo</strong></strong>, <strong>Loud Luxury,</strong> <strong>Sam Feldt, Chantel Jeffries, Frank Walker, and Xandra</strong> all brought their A-game to the festival. The daytime had all the electric sounds to get people pumped for the big acts to follow. <strong>Loud Luxury</strong> and <strong>Sam <strong>Feldt</strong></strong> did a wonderful job with their sets playing classics for all to enjoy. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As Sunset hit and nighttime neared, <strong>Calvin Harris </strong>and<strong> Kygo</strong> were ready to rock the <strong>raucous</strong> Hamptons crowd. <strong>The King of Tropical House</strong> had the sunset slot and he brought all the right vibes. He brought out a bunch of special guests including&nbsp;<strong>Justin</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Jesso</strong>&nbsp;to perform a few times. Kygo closed his set always in special fashion with<strong>&nbsp;‘Higher Love</strong>‘ and a beautiful rendition of<strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HIlAdazD3Y" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;‘Firestone.’</a></strong> When he brings out the live strings and violinists, you know it&#8217;s going to be a good time. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-calvin-harris">Calvin Harris</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My favorite set of the night was Calvin Harris. His sound has evolved over the years but there is no one in dance music with as many<strong> dance-friendly</strong> hits as him. He can be regarded as one of the artists who broke EDM into the pop scene here in America. With tracks like<strong> &#8216;We Found Love,&#8217; &#8216;Summer,&#8217;</strong> and <strong>&#8216;One Kiss,&#8217; </strong>the list could really go on and on. His set was perfect and left everyone satisfied. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">He explored a lot of his new sounds merging his classic electronic sound with <strong>techno</strong>. He was not afraid to bring the underground to the main stage. Of course, he played his newest big track<strong> <a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/2023/03/calvin-harris-and-ellie-goulding-release-miracle/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&#8216;Miracle&#8217; </a></strong>with Ellie Goulding. Calvin Harris was formally inducted into the Palm Tree Crew family when Kygo gifted him a palm tree necklace &#8211; the brand’s <strong>symbol</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>community</strong>.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This festival is the perfect way to kick off <strong>Summer</strong> in <strong>New York</strong>. I hope this festival continues to return to the Hamptons and gets bigger and bigger. I can see it in the future adding more stages and expanding the grounds to accommodate even more people. It has been a pleasure seeing it grow.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Palm Tree Crew had expanded to be all over the world now. Its next stop will be the<strong> Egyptian Pyramids </strong>show set to take place in <strong>October 2023.</strong> That is one, you certainly won&#8217;t want to miss. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">After months of anticipation,<strong> <a href="https://palmtreecrew.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kygo&#8217;s Palm Tree Music Festival</a> </strong>finally got to rock the <strong>Hamptons</strong>. It was the <strong>first-ever</strong> edition of the festival that he wants to take all over the world. The Hamptons of <strong>New York</strong> were luckily able to experience it first. It took place on Sunday, August 29th at <strong>Francis S. Gabreski Airport</strong> in Westhampton Beach, NY. It was the perfect venue for a festival. With a grand stage in a wide-open hilly grass field, everyone was ready to get their feet moving. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The festival featured a stellar line-up including <strong>Kygo, Zedd, Gryffin, Frank Walker,</strong> and <strong>Forester</strong>. There were also many special guests including <strong>Justin Jesso, Parson James, </strong>and<strong> Zohara</strong>. Kygo surprised everyone when during his set when he brought out the iconic Godfather of <strong>tropical</strong> vibes, <strong>Jimmy Buffet</strong>. It was a special night to remember and one we all hope will happen again next Summer. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-venue">The Venue</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Francis S. Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach was a dreamy location for a festival. Sequestered in a <strong>landscape of trees</strong>, the airport presents a great place to enjoy a day. Every so often <strong>private jets</strong> would soar away in the background while <strong>helicopters</strong> would constantly fly in with people. Never once did it actually interfere with the music. The festival was the perfect level of crowded. Just enough to <strong>dance the night away</strong> with strangers, but not too many where you couldn&#8217;t walk around. I found it super easy to leave my dance spot to go get drinks or food and come back to the exact same spot. The bathrooms were also super clean and never had to wait more than a few minutes. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">All tickets came with <strong>complimentary drinks and alcohol.</strong> It was so nice to not have to pull out your wallet unless you were getting food. But even then, some food trucks hooked you up with samples. There were food offerings from <strong>New York staples</strong>, such as <strong>Shake Shack, Ample Hills, Shrimpy’s, Uncle Gussy’s, Milk Bar,</strong> and <strong>Bravo</strong> <strong>Toast</strong>. There were also drink trucks and stands from <strong>Blue Point, Stella Artois, Happy Hour,</strong> and <strong>Long Drink.</strong> <strong>Dolce</strong> even made personal espresso martinis for everyone. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">They had a nice amount of<strong> lawn games</strong> too. People were enjoying the <strong>mini putting green, giant beer pong, flip cup, cornhole,</strong> and other fun games. All in all, I would come back to this location in heartbeat for a concert.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue.jpeg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-303823" srcset="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-1068x712.jpeg 1068w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-630x420.jpeg 630w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue-1920x1280.jpeg 1920w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/The-Venue.jpeg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><figcaption>Photo Credit: Palm Tree Crew and Johannes Lovund</figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-support">The Support</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">While Kygo was the headliner, there was an impressive list of support. The LA-based duo <strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFKUg_b8twVUYBorpscv4Rw" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Forester</a></strong> got the festival started with their live hybrid DJ performance. It is always nice to see live singing and guitar playing. They played many hits for the fans including <strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbDaFdCWkm8" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&#8216;Spark,&#8217;</a> &#8216;Falling Fire,&#8217; </strong>and<strong> &#8216;All My Days.&#8217;</strong><a href="https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DZ06evO3NJ56M" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong> Frank Walker</strong> </a>was next who brought some energy to Sunday. He played a wide range of tracks including his new remix of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3z35q-ICi4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Beggin</strong>&#8216; by <strong>Madcon</strong></a>. He also lit up the crowd with <strong>&#8216;Like Gold&#8217; </strong>and <strong>&#8216;Imagine.&#8217; </strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><a href="https://open.spotify.com/artist/2ZRQcIgzPCVaT9XKhXZIzh" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gryffin</a></strong> brought his <strong>unique</strong> sound playing some <strong>dubstep</strong> bangers for the crowd. He said &#8220;let&#8217;s get weird&#8221; and he surely did! I always love hearing some headbangers even with it being a tropical festival. He also played to the audience making sure to play his mega-hits<a href="https://hu.pinterest.com/pin/745627282042387284/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> <strong>&#8216;Feel Good&#8217;</strong> </a>and <strong><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/2018/08/gryffin-tie-me-down-with-elley-duhe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&#8216;Tie Me Down.&#8217; </a></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The last man before the main act was <strong><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/2021/07/zedd-puts-26-5-million-beverly-hills-mansion-up-for-sale/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zedd</a></strong>. Only amazing things to say about his set. He always has a way of working the crowd. He plays his <strong>pop-friendly</strong> tracks but puts a <strong>heavy</strong> emphasis on real <strong>dance music.</strong> The mixture satisfies all leaving us always wanting to see him again. He of course played his #1 hits including <strong>&#8216;The Middle,&#8217; &#8216;Stay,&#8217; </strong>and <strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVwEiNdpKeE" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&#8216;Clarity.&#8217;</a></strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-scaled.jpeg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-1024x683.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-303825" srcset="https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-1536x1024.jpeg 1536w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-scaled.jpeg 2048w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-1068x712.jpeg 1068w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-630x420.jpeg 630w, https://www.edmtunes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Zedd-1920x1281.jpeg 1920w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><figcaption>Photo Credit: Palm Tree Crew and Johannes Lovund</figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-kygo">Kygo</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><a href="https://open.spotify.com/artist/23fqKkggKUBHNkbKtXEls4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The King of Tropical House</a></strong> kept the party going late into the Summer night. With this being his festival, he made sure to send the Hamptons crowd home happy. He brought out a bunch of special guests having <strong>Justin</strong> <strong>Jesso</strong> perform a few times. The Norwegian DJ shocked everyone when he brought out<strong> Long Island&#8217;s</strong> favorite <strong>Jimmy Buffet</strong>. He performed a playful version of<strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue2-ZVxpVjc" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> &#8216;Margitaville&#8217;</a></strong> making sure to customize it to the Palm Tree Music festival. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kygo played all of his classics from<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XrR-iyJ3yY" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> <strong>&#8216;Stole the Show&#8217;</strong></a><strong> </strong>to<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3VTKvdAuIY" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> <strong>&#8216;It Ain&#8217;t Me (with Selena Gomez)&#8217;</strong></a><strong> </strong>to <strong>&#8216;Never Let You Go.&#8217; </strong>He closed in signature style with<strong> &#8216;Higher Love</strong>&#8216; and a beautiful rendition of<strong><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HIlAdazD3Y" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> &#8216;Firestone.&#8217;</a></strong> Justin Jesso came out one final time along with<strong> 8 violinists</strong>. Kygo&#8217;s piano was brought out too and everyone sang every word. &#8216;Firestone&#8217; is a timeless classic that always takes you back to the good days. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It was a fantastic way to close out <strong>Summer in New York.</strong> I think everyone would love to be back again, dancing under the stars and forgetting about life for a little bit. </p>
