Before we dive into the list, our team considered a large number of tracks. Some standout songs that didn’t make our list include Martin Garrix’s ‘Wherever You Are’, Above & Beyond’s ‘Crazy Love‘ featuring Zoë Johnston, Sara Landry and Alt8’s ‘Heaven‘, and Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Lioness‘ which were all popular hits this summer. 10. Mau P – On Again

Dutch sensation Mau P, who is breaking new ground in his latest release ‘On Again’ by showcasing his exceptional vocal talent in addition to his prowess behind the decks. 5. Dom Dolla – Girl$

If you saw the Australian superstar at Red Rocks, EDC, or Coachella this year, you would have witnessed the crowd go wild when he performed ‘girl$’. The streams before the official release went viral. The inspiration for ‘girl$’ came from a conversation Dom had with friends who were all tired of bad dates and had decided to give up on dating. Dom wrote the lyrics based on a story a friend told him about a memorable night out. This is Dom’s only release of 2024, and it’s a powerful one. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

4. Adam Beyer, Green Velvet, Layton Giordani – Party All The Time

Experience the electrifying rendition of Sharam’s 2007 classic ‘Party All The Time’ by Adam Beyer, Green Velvet and Layton Giordani. This track took Miami Music Week by a storm, setting the stage on fire as the certified party anthem. Now available via Drumcode, it has secured its place in the sets of industry heavyweights such as Armin van Buuren, John Summit, FISHER, and Oliver Heldens.

At EDMTunes, we’ve been big fans of Summit for a while, as he has consistently secured spots on various of our Top Tracks lists over the years. May surprised us with the revival of a classic. Out on the legendary Positiva imprint, Artur and Batish — ARTBAT — revamped the timeless The Chemical Brothers hit ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl‘ to suit the boomy needs of today’s dancefloors. Their take retains the original’s buzzy synth texture and tension but with extra synths layered in that spray about the mix over the rolling drums. We bet it’s grown to become the weakness of all crowds. 4. Ray Volpe — SONG REQUEST

Every once in a while, we get hypnotised by a melody that we just can’t get out fo our heads. Such is the case of Ray Volpe‘s latest floor igniter, ‘SONG REQUEST‘. This one goes one step further in the scale of singalongs, literally playing with the idea for its drops. Building up the tension continuously, the melody comes in the form of a conversation between a clubgoer and a DJ, one whose main point is a song request that goes “Baaa daa daaa“.

3. Skrillex, Hamdi & Taichu — Push

We would have lost our minds if we didn’t consider Sonny’s latest worthy of a third place. How does he do it?! From a broken pair of speakers which took him sky-high nearly 15 years ago to STILL being a trailblazer and opening doors for new fusions and genres, Skrillex is frankly unstoppable. He’s currently enjoying the high of having released this banger alongside club music pioneer Hamdi and electrifying Argentinian vocalist Taichu. Here’s ‘Push‘.

2. John Summit & HAYLA – Shiver (Cassian Remix)

What could become the remix of the year, for all we know. The highly anticipated Cassian remix of John Summit and HAYLA‘s hit ‘Shiver’ saw the light of day during May, yet we had been listening to it for a long while prior to that. Summit himself had been spinning it in his sets, as it brings a fresh and punchy, masterful Melodic Techno spin on the original. Do you prefer it over the original? It’s jaw-dropping enough to take the silver in our top.

Honourable Mentions

As every month, there was a ton of new material which, even though didn’t make the cut into our list, shouldn’t be overlooked. This month, songs such as Anyma & Layton Giordani’s splendid remix of Loofy’s ‘Last Night’, Disclosure’s incredible return track ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’, and Armin van Buuren’s ‘High on Love’ featuring Anne Gudrun, were all super tough to leave out of the top. They did so just by a hair, though.

We had to give the crown to the man himself this month. He who has made headlines for real estate, being featured in Forbes, and, of course, the way in which he pioneered an entire new wave of Tech House — and keeps doing so —, broke yet another barrier halfway through May: he ventured onto Drum & Bass. ‘Go Back’ blends his talent in music production with that of powerful DnB act Sub Focus, plus the spot-on vocals of Julia Church.

The roster includes Skrillex, Knife Party, Fred Again.., Zeds Dead and Porter Robinson. Closer to home, Hamdi has consistently received support from the UK underground scene’s most prestigious acts. This include DJ EZ, Skream, Sherelle and Mala. His track ‘Skanka‘ has taken the world by storm and was arguably one of the biggest Dubstep tracks of 2022. Consequently, DJ Mag wrote that ‘Skanka’ has already proven its staying power and firmly cemented its place as a modern classic.’ (source)

Taichu

Ever since she was a little girl, Tais López Miranda aka Taichu knew she wanted to be a musician. At just 22 years old, the Argentinian singer has more than 450,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Moreover, she has collaborated on the projects of our artists Juicy BAE and Aleesha. A few months ago she gave us a preview of some of the tracks that would form part of her new album RAWR! and now it’s out. We tell you all the details of the new album.

OMNOM

OMNOM continues his rise into the spotlight, thanks to hit after hit on renowned labels like Dirtybird, Confession, Experts Only, and more. With his unique style of hypnotic, stripped-back House, his sets are nothing but fun and I highly recommend you add him to your schedule Friday night.

Dillon Francis B2B Valentino Khan

If you’re coming to dance, do NOT miss this B2B set. With these two big DJ personalities combined, Dillon Francis and Valentino Khan are sure to be a nonstop party from start to finish. Close ypur Saturday night with an energy-filled bang.

Kyle Watson

If South African DJ/producer Kyle Watson is ever playing a set near you, you DO NOT miss it. An icon in the House realm, Watson is known for his bass-fueled club hits that both melt your brain while keeping you moving on the dance floor. His live sets are a blast, so don’t miss this one Saturday night.

Hamdi

An up-and-comer who blasted onto the scene this past year, with hit releases on Deadbeats like, ‘Counting,’ and ‘Criminal,’ Hamdi is just getting started. Don’t miss your chance to see this one Saturday night before he takes over the world.

Zeds Dead

They’re DJs, they’re producers, and they’re the Deadbeats label bosses behind some of the hottest releases in bass music: Zeds Dead is an act you never want to miss on a lineup. On Saturday night, they’ll take over NOS with their genre-bending, brain-tickling, dance-inducing sound. Mark this one on your schedule to hear some of your favorite tracks live.

The headliners are massive: we’ve got the lovable Above & Beyond with their friend, Seven Lions. Two Friends, the in-demand ISOKNOCK (ISOXO + Knock 2), LSZee (Clozee & LSDream). Sullivan King and No Redemption (Tchami & Malaa) return with Illenium. With 12 major acts across 4 stages, NCMF does a great job with crowd control but still able to easily get to each act if you so desire!

The undercard could also count as headliners nowadays with just how much recognition these talented names have acquired. ARMNHMR just recently threw down at Radius with excellent reviews. Get out those Wooli Vuitton pashminas for the return of Adam to the windy city. Disco Lines have been dominating lately. Oh, did you notice DJ Diesel is on there too? Sheesh.

In addition to its roster of world-class headliners, North Coast’s 2024 lineup boasts an array of impressive support acts, including festival debuts from American trailblazer, ACRAZE, Dab The Sky (collaborative project between Dabin & Said the Sky), anonymous midtempo bass project Deathpact, and HYO (the DJ project of iconic KPOP group Girls’ Generation-member Hyoyeon Kim).

An extremely huge addition to 2024 is the Brownies & Lemonade curated stage. One genre that is constantly asked about and for Chicago is drum & bass. Legends Chase & Status are making an epic return that weekend. Catch a lot of veterans there along with the fresh faced ones learning about the return of the genre. Hedex is a must see as well as well as Hamdi and Netsky.

The introduction of the spacious venue expanded North Coast’s experimental art installation programming, and the 2024 edition will mark the return of popular additions such as The Chill Dome – a full soccer field dome with lasers, cushions, and air-conditioning complemented by DJs playing downtempo, lofi, and deep house. Designed as a place for attendees to cool down and take a break, this year will once again feature national touring acts in addition to yoga at the start of each day.

First, Bonnaroo 2024 is highlighting by a very special edition of the festival’s world-famous SuperJam. Set for Saturday, June 15 in That Tent, 2024’s all-star collaboration will be “Once More With Feeling(s) – The Dashboard Confessional Emo SuperJam,” with performances from special guests both announced and unannounced. It is this year’s session as a must-see celebration of community, showmanship, and unmatched musical adventure.

Just 50 miles from Nashville, Tennessee, you’ll be able to catch Pretty Lights, Fisher, Post Malone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Fred Again… For the first time in Bonnaroo history, the main stage will power up for a special Thursday night headline set, which will feature an incredible performance by Pretty Lights. Derek and the gang will also perform a second sunrise set on The Other Stage during the weekend. Pretty Lights will be performing a special show + production. After just wrapping up his Swirlbridge 2023 with three days at each stop, it’s only speculation for right now on what that may mean. But, we are here for it!

There is so much range on the 2024 lineup. We go from T-Pain who rocked an Electric Forest afternoon in 2019 with a FANTASTIC set to Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. Joe Russo’s Almost Dead & Gary Clark Jr. on that Friday and Dr. Fresch. ISOXO is also performing and his buddy, Knock2 will surely be hopping around and having a great time during this performance. The infamous Oliver Heldens, Svdden Death, Hamdi, and LYNY will be bringing the bass on Thursday and Friday. So much going on here in a good way!

A fan favorite, Greensky Bluegrass will be there with Milky Chance on Sunday. Four Tet is surely going to be coming to support his buddy, Fred, on stage at some point. TSHA and Kasablanca will be bringing the energy along with Seven Lions. The fan favorite Disco Lines will also be there. It’s hard to focus on the lineup because one’s eyes keep going all over, observing the carefully picked artists for this summer must-be-at festival. Take a look at the whole poster below!

Bonnaroo has maintained a unique commitment to local and regional issues since the festival’s very beginnings. Founded in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Bonnaroo Works Fund (BWF) contributes to more than 100 local, regional, and national nonprofit partners benefiting the arts, education, environmental sustainability, and social impact, with a direct focus on local reinvestment and asset building. Nearly $10M in funding has been generated thus far, providing much-needed local support to Middle Tennessee, in particular Manchester and Coffee County communities.

One Final Note

Lastly, it’s important to mention this other tidbit that has come from Festive Owl as well. It looks like this will be the only Fred Again.. show that North America will be getting this year after a huge NA 2023 for him and his team.

Headliners for 2024 will include Forest legend Pretty Lights, the bone-rattling sounds of Excision, and Cyclops Recordings founder Subtronics. A variety of rare collaborative artist sets are also on deck, including EVERYTHING ALWAYS (Dom Dolla + John Summit), PSYREN (CloZee + LSDREAM), and Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE teaming up for their Gigantic NGHTMRE project.

Jam fans can rejoice as The String Cheese Incident returns to perform two Incidents, plus sets from fellow torchbearers of the genre The Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s McGee. Some of the more unexpected names on the lineup include Grammy-winning singer Nelly Furtado and famed Atlanta hip-hop artist Ludacris, each bringing their iconic sounds to Electric Forest next year. The list of headliners is rounded out by Belgian techno queen Charlotte de Witte, a solo set from John Summit, and performances by Black Tiger Sex Machine, Ben Böhmer, and Knock2.

Additional house and techno favorites on the lineup include Mau P, LP Giobbi, DJ Tennis, Sultan + Shepard, TSHA, and Coco & Breezy, while heavier sounds will come courtesy of Chase & Status, Barclay Crenshaw, ATLiens, Wooli, and Alison Wonderland’s new project Whyte Fang. The 2024 lineup also showcases a variety of live acts with their own electronic influences, featuring performances by Cannons, NEIL FRANCES, and DRAMA. More artists will continue to be announced leading up to the festival.

Applications are now open for The Wish Machine, which remains one of the ultimate personifications of the festival’s community-driven ethos. The program calls on Forest Family to dream up their ultimate Electric Forest fantasy prize to submit alongside an act of good they will commit to doing in their community if selected. The program has generated over 7,500 inspiring commitments through the years, resulting in donations to humanitarian efforts, the creation of a mental health support group, various community clean-up and improvement projects, and more while granting wishes ranging from a slot on the lineup to private artist performances.
