Everyone loves when people try to run on stage, am I right?? No, I am not. It seems like every month a fan attempts to run on stage to greet their favorite DJ. And for the most part, it always ends in them being tackled. This past Sunday at Sunset Music Festival a fan once again attempted to storm the stage during Dog Blood’s set. It ended how you would assume, security holding the crazy man down.

It’s unclear what the man was trying to do, maybe take a selfie? This did not stop Skrillex from hopping on the mic to defend his fan. In the video, you can hear him telling security to take it easy.

“No no no no no, guys guys, please, please, just chill. Just calm a little bit. I think everyone’s cool. He’s a kid, just move him out calmly”

However, after a minute of resisting to leave Skrill’s attitude changed. Especially after the fan continually stated, “it’s not over, it’s not over,” when in fact the show was over. Skrillex seemed to have lost his patience. He told the man “The show is over, just go home, bro.”

Let this kid be a lesson to all, it never works out to jump the barrier. Skrillex showed two good sides, being able to calm security and also knowing when something is a lost cause.

Kaskade fan Efrain Cuessy was diagnosed with stage-two Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 17. Through the Make-A-Wish foundation, he decided on bringing Kaskade to his 18th birthday party. The artist’s media director, Jodi Call, replied informing him to save the wish, since it was on the team!

Before his birthday, Cuessy found out he was cancer free! Amidst that celebration, his birthday, January 31, arrived. Sean Guarino, owner of Sexy Lites, and Tim Brennan, Vice President of PRG, personally drove to Cuessy’s home. They delivered all the tech needed for his imminent backyard party!

Kaskade heard about Cuessy’s plan to open for him, so he insisted on a B2B. “Kaskade walked into my backyard, said hi to me, and asked if I was ready for a little back-to-back action.” Kaskade played B2B with him for 30 minutes, then took over for a solo set.

“If I could hang out with my fans on this small of a scale every day I would. Getting to know Efrain and his story was such an inspiration for me. It was an automatic ‘Yes’ when I heard that he wanted me to play his 18th birthday party in his backyard.”

It is no secret that Zedd is undeniably taking over the world of electronic dance music with his impressive list of triumphs and upcoming projects. These accomplishments have been ever-present during the past couple of months, and there is nothing stopping the talented musician from conquering the competitive music industry in the long run – especially with the help of his promotional team.

His most recent tour in New Zealand and Australia alongside the legendary Katy Perry has sparked collaboration rumors, and it seems as though the Russian-German producer has been busy balancing this venture along with his other impressive projects.

In celebration of his new track ‘Happy Now‘ featuring Elley Duhé, the multi-instrumentalist decided to surprise one of his day-one fans in Glendale, California.

There are no doubts that she was ‘Happy Now’ when the Grammy Awards winner showed up at her door with massive balloons that read “happy now”.

The dynamic musician truly has a wonderful team as they were able to promote his new single and bring pure bliss to one of his follower’s lives for years to come.

]]> In the dance music community we like to preach tolerance, love, and acceptance. Bassnectar is one artist that makes these statements a major part of his persona, but apparently those concepts don’t apply to the religious or those with differing politics. In Bassnectar‘s case, it seems as though when the controversial subject of religion gets tossed into the mix, he is bound for a doozy of a rant.

In a recent Twitter rant, the usually kumbaya-preaching American producer began to go off on fans who supported religion or differing political views. The forty-year-old musician didn’t hold anything back as he stated:

“jesus hates republicans” – Bassnectar

His army of dedicated followers was quick to chime in and proudly stated: “Jesus doesn’t hate anyone yooooo”.

Jumping back into the argument a day later, the ‘Bass Head‘ artist attempted to justify his harsh statement by explaining his hatred towards Republicans and Christians via presumed interaction with Jesus himself.

Check It Out Below:

One fan, in particular, was not taking his harsh Tweets lightly. Although he mentioned that he was a “huge fan” of Bassnectar’s music, he does not support this kind of behavior and would be selling his ticket for an upcoming show due to this “unacceptable” attitude.

This is a friendly reminder that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and is allowed to express their own personal thoughts. It is also important to keep in mind that some subjects, i.e. politics, money, and religion, should be approached carefully, or sometimes, not at all. Be kind to one another and you will be rewarded in the end.

It comes as no surprise that when an artist releases a new track or an album, or tries out something a little different, that fans often have mixed reviews. That’s what makes life interesting, right? Today, one of Alesso‘s dedicated followers spoke his mind regarding the Swedish producer’s current skills and sets – let’s just say that the feedback was not well-received by the beloved DJ…

It all began when the ‘Heroes‘ musician posted the below clip, with the caption “Who’s that kid?! [crying laughing emoji]”

That’s when the, let’s say, brave Twitter user, @Simone Guasco, replied: “That kid was the best producer I knew, do you know where he is now?”

As you can imagine, that comment did not sit well with the hard-working artist…Alesso’s response was short & sweet: “get the f*ck out of here”.

Following their passionate exchange, the social media user didn’t hesitate to inquire why the legendary DJ reacted the way that he did.

Check Out The Exchange Below:

Yeah, we are thinking the same thing as you, “that was intense over an innocent comment”. We couldn’t agree more…

Harry Styles Sexually Assaulted By Fans – Continues Performance Like a Pro

Every now and again artists are faced with uncomfortable situations with their fans. Recently, Harry Styles was faced with his closest fan interaction yet. During his performance at the Hollywood Bowl, the 23-year-old was sexually assaulted by his fans. The disturbing footage was captured and released for the world to see.

A Twitter user who was at the show shared the alleged assault online:

The daring fans took matters into their own hands (no pun intended) and pursued to grope the young musician. The ‘Two Ghosts‘ singer shook it off and continued like the true professional that he is.

Styles has yet to release an official statement. In the meantime, some fans are disputing if the act was in fact “sexual assault”; others are simply stating that the singer should get more respect.

Whatever you may believe the situation should be justified as, there is one thing that is for certain: one does not have permission, no matter what the case is, to touch another human being without consent. We hope that this incident opens fans eyes to a whole new perspective of respect and consideration.

You may have heard about the impending end of one of Canada’s most storied venues, the Guvernment. Not necessarily through morbid and hopeless news of its January 31st closing, but because of the epic series of shows they’ve lined up to celebrate 18 years of excellence; Cosmic Gate, Knife Party and Armin van Buuren will take to the decks and pack the gunpowder for the Guvernment’s final shebang, which will be detonated by none other than Toronto’s premiere producer and performer, Deadmau5.

As with any show of this significance, there will be scalpers. It’s a frustrating truth that became exceedingly clear during Kaskade‘s latest Redux Tour when he exposed – and really embarrassed – a young scalper through a video prank. So as somebody who really cares about his music, his shows, and a fair opportunity for fans to enjoy both of those things, Deadmau5 is openly warning folks about paying exorbitant prices for his show’s tickets.

Not only are scalpers getting under his skin, fans are getting a lil’ invasive. Joel just can’t seem to catch a break. Prior to a show in Uruguay, ‘mau5 was spotted dining out by a fan who was either too shy to say hello or simply has creepy tendencies; she’s apparently not particularly good at subtle stalking either because she tagged him in the tweeted picture.

To which he responded swiftly.

Long story short, treat your fellow fans and celebs with some respect. We’re all trying to enjoy ourselves when we’re going out to shows, they’re not for our physical profit, and our favorite artists deserve to be treated like normal people. Joel treats his fan base pretty darned well, so it’s just frustrating when others spoil the situation.

Of the many things I miss about the ‘old days’ of electronic music, Deadmau5’s active Soundcloud and Ustream are two. A platform to hear his works-in-progress and iterative progression of tracks, Joel Zimmerman’s Soundcloud was a treasure trove of unreleased works, while his live streams of producing on Ustream were an intriguing and transparent look into the musical mastermind behind the mouse head. Not a total loss of content, but for a price, Zimmerman’s subscription-based ‘Deadmau5 live’ site now serves as the chimera of the previously free platforms.

Still, some diehard fans are resurrecting the gems of Deadmau5 past in a YouTube video of “some song Joel streamed but didn’t release. Pieces chopped together into a song …”. Though Zimmerman claims to have no recollection of this track, he did give the upload a stamp of approval on Twitter yesterday.

The 7 minute ambient track is dripping with that unique, ethereal ambiance that Zimmerman is renown for, and we are so thankful for fans like his who continue to preserve and percolate otherwise long lost pieces like this. Listen to the track below!

Whenever we see a story about a DJ reaching out to a fan, it gives us a little faith in humanity. When that someone is Deadmau5, it is a gesture that definitely grabs our attention. While usually our headlines are filled with his twitter tirades and musical prowess, today we bring you one that will have you saying good guy Deadmau5. Meet Zac Campbell, an aspiring DJ who was robbed at knife point after a DJ competition. He was stabbed three times, bitten, battered and robbed of his DJing equipment. Deadmau5 caught wind of the story and decided that as a member of the horde, Zac didn’t deserve this shitty day, so he did the only sensible thing: replaced his equipment. As Zac spends his days recovering in the hospital he has a care package to look forward to that contains: a 13″ macbook with Ableton 9, a Traktor Kontrol S4 and Native Instruments Komplete 10. This is just another example of music helping someone to heal and shows the brighter side to a DJ who is often vilified in the media. Feel better Zac, the hordes got your back!

Zac had a shitty day.

Long story short, Zac Campbell had a pretty shitty night recently… Ill spare you the details, but he was DJing in a small club for a DJ competition, and after he left his gig, gear in hand… he was attacked with a knife, stabbed 3 times, bitten, and beat the fuck up. All because some asshole wanted his DJ gear. Hospitalized…. but he is on the mend now, and is recovering well.

he’s been a fan, member of the horde for quite some time… and we look after our own, so… after eyeballing the gear you had, we’ve decided to get you some upgrades to help you back on your feet….
sending out a shipment for you today! New 13” macboook with some goodies that will get you back on the decks, and producing some music…. (got wind from a friend of yours, thanks heather, that you wanted to get into production)
