In May of 2024, Canadian Alt Rock Group MENEW teamed up with DJ Dzeko for their latest single ‘Never Us’. The pop-leaning dance record was a catchy and melodic EDM track the leaned more in the pop lane, not dissimilar from some of Dzeko’s most notable works. The record performed well at Dance radio in the US, gaining some momentum and breaking on to the dance and mix-showairplay chart during the summer.

In August, the group came back with an even more EDM leaning version of the record alongside the DJ, BYOR. This remix was a hard hitting, fast paced dance beat that brought the band into a completely different space. This record did not have that same pop flare, instead this remix shined as a beacon of the EDM genre, with its driving drums and synth melodies.

About MENEW

MENEW (pronounced ‘menu’) [aka. Brothers] are an alternative indie rock band composed of three brothers; Shade (lead vocals, guitar), Key (piano, synthesizers) and Nathan Samuel Phillip (drums, vocals). Their sound derives from a background of classical music training and British rock influence.

“If Muse, Coldplay and The Killers had a genius, dirty lovechild – it’s name would be MENEW.”

– Loudwire

MENEW’s debut album Wide Awake Hello and follow up Mother Nature met much critical acclaim when short-listed for eight Grammy Nominations and have had placements on major networks including NBC, CBS, MTV, ESPN and films worldwide. They have since been featured on Network television including the Late Show with David Letterman and have toured and performed alongside artists such as U2, Stone Temple Pilots, Akon, Filter, Weezer and Linkin Park.

MENEW’s acclaimed single ‘Baby You’re like A Drug’, produced by Matt Wallace and mixed by Chris Lord Alge, released in 2016. The music video was directed by Josh Butler, and stars Joshua Jackson. The band’s new EDM side project Brothers, debut single ‘In Cali’ released in 2017 opening the Cannes Film Festival with a performance at Gotha Club alongside Hip Hop artist French Montana. Their new EDM track ‘Overdrive’ released 2019, coinciding with a European club tour including shows in Cannes, Monaco and St. Tropez.

Dzeko described the creative process as an exploration of ideas in a press released he shared to EDMTunes. “The song with Lil Yachty came about by hitting the studio literally last March,” he explained. “We went through a bunch of different ideas and vocals.” This experimentation paid off, as Dzeko highlights the unique blend of elements that make the track a success: “I think the combination of the melodic chorus with the Wu-Tang part mixed with the dance/house drop blends so well and makes it a banger.”

Fans are in for a treat as Dzeko’s signature production style fuses with Lil Yachty’s infectious rapping in ‘Wu Tang.’ The year-long effort to perfect the song speaks to Dzeko’s excitement: “A year in the making, and I’m so excited for this to finally come out.”

This isn’t Dzeko’s first foray into cross genre collaborations either with his last one being with country legend Keith Urban on ‘Both Still Young.’ And then there is his platinum hit ‘Jackie Chan‘ with Post Malone and Tiësto which took the world by storm in 2018. Dzeko and Lil Yachty’s latest collaboration is one to get excited for as the combination of their talents has all the makings of a crossover hit. With its catchy melodies, bumping dancefloor beats, and a touch of Wu Tang Clan influence, the track has what it takes to be the next summer anthem.

Dzeko has released some of the most recognizable tracks in the world including his collab with Tiesto, Post Malone and Preme in ‘Jackie Chan’ in 2018. Since then, the artist has accomplished many major milestone achievements including performing atop the mainstages of Ultra Miami and Veld Music Festival and entertaining countless fans at his Las Vegas residency.

His newest remix is of Jessie Reyez’s ‘LOVE IN THE DARK’. Dzeko masterfully incorporates in his signature dance sounds all while keeping the emotional elements of Reyez’s original track. You can take a listen to the remix below now!

Dzeko and DJ D-Sol kick off the track with a glitchy and melodic instrumental introducing some funky elements. From that point on, it adds layers peaking into the grated and groovy bassline which the production seems centered around. Dying down, the track starts building back into its element with a fuller body. Finally, this builds into the bassline hooking again into the bread and butter of the track.

Dzeko certainly gained some exposure through the duo which he departed from alongside Torres. Since then, the producer took his talents into different directions with many collaboration. Working with the likes of Tiësto, Dimitri Vangelis, and Post Malone (to name a few), Dzeko has gained serious momentum, all building to this release with DJ D-Sol today. You can check out his performances and hear more of his songs at the link here.

The exceptionally talented Kelly Clarkson hosted the event, pulling off multiple wardrobe changes and performances. She was rushed to the hospital to have her appendix removed due to acute appendicitis shortly after the ceremony – our thoughts are with her!

Although the American singer-songwriter was the true superstar of the night, some of the biggest EDM heavyweights also shined bright by taking home some seriously impressive wins. The Chainsmokers won the Top Dance/Electronic Artist over Calvin Harris, Kygo, Marshmello, and Odesza. They also took home the win for the Top Dance/Electronic Album over Clean Bandit, David Guetta, Kygo, and Major Lazer.

The Chainsmokers weren’t the only EDM musicians to come out on top, either. Zedd won the Top Dance/Electronic Song, alongside Maren Morris & Grey, for his chart-topping hit ‘Middle‘. Runner-ups included DJ Snake ft. Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B, Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa, Marshmello & Bastille, and Tiesto & Dzeko ft. Preme & Post Malone.

Congratulations are in order for another well-deserved win, guys! It’s so great to see you continue to shine.

Tiesto – Together EP

Brace yourselves for Tiësto’s latest collection of big room club tracks in this new EP titled ‘Together‘. It contains 8 tracks featuring a multitude of artists from Dzeko, Mesto, SWACQ, Sikdope, Stoltenhoff, and more. For as long as he’s been in the game, he’s still churning out new music for us. A new wave of festival electro bangers is here and you may just hear them live in the future.

Tracks:

Tiesto & Dzeko featuring Lena Leon – ‘Halfway There’: Premiered at Tomorrowland last year, this track received great reviews. It’s a catch, nice, old-school sounding but beautiful melody put together by both artists. Lena’s vocals add the final notes for this collaboration.

Tiësto & Mesto – ‘Can’t Get Enough‘: The drop is everything in this one; it’s what got Tiesto to finish the track with Mesto. Consider it a follow up to their first collab, ‘Coming Home’.

Tiësto & SWACQ – ‘Party Time‘: An original track started by SWACQ, this trap melodic piece is a dirty dance track. Oasis vibes mixed with some wobbly bass line, it really is party time.

Tiësto & Sikdope – ‘My Whistle‘: We know Tijs loves his drops and when he discovered Sikdope on this one, they altered the whistle for a catchier vibe. While you used to lose it to Fisher, it’s time to move over for the whistle.

Tiësto & Stoltenhoff – ‘Lose Control‘: A high energy piece full of creative energy, this crazy hard track is a late night one to end all festival sets. Never a dull moment with this one.

Tiësto & 7 Skies featuring Micky Blue – ‘Trouble‘: A track having been worked on for a while, 7 Skies is the genius behind this one. His new sounds combined with Tijs’s old-school progressive create a rhythmic melody to sway to. Micky’s majestic vocals add magic to the blend of acoustic and electronic sounds to deliver perfect energy on the dance floor.

Tiësto & John Christian – ‘Can You Feel It‘: This is an uplifting track that will be one to stay for future festival sets. Nothing is better than two friends working in a studio together mixing beats. Its big room festival feel combined with warped synths make it one to remember.

Tiësto & Aazar featuring Micky Blue – ‘Diamonds‘: The first trap track we have seen from Tiesto. It leaves a bold impression with Micky’s vocals here. With memorable lyrics and an incredible drop, this one is for all the diamonds in the rough out there.

‘Together’ is out now and you can listen to the latests collabs below!

Shortly after announcing his new EP, ‘Together’, Tiësto took to releasing his collaboration with Mesto titled ‘Can’t Get Enough.’ This comes freshly after his Ultra Music Festival performance. The track kicks off with a groove, hosting the bass-line, rhythm, plucks, and a pad. It follows it up by quieting down into a drone-like bass with the vocals sitting on top, and a click in the background. The song then rises into a thumping, deep and bass-centric beat with a flute-esque lead.

The EP ‘Together’ is set for release on April 5th. It hosts many collaborations with other artists such as Lena Leon, Dzeko, John Christian, 7 Skies, Stoltenhoff, Aazar, SWACQ, and Sikdope. With that in mind, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ is not Tiësto’s first collaboration with Mesto, as they already teamed up earlier for ‘Coming Home’.

You can stream the track with Mesto below. You can also pre-save the upcoming EP by clicking here.
