David Guetta has put his stamp on Major Lazer’s ‘Rotate,’ releasing a remix of the track via Because Music.

The French DJ and producer’s version arrives a week after a separate rework from UK house producer Patrick Topping, giving the single two very different lives on dancefloors and radio playlists alike.Guetta’s take leans into his knack for bridging club and mainstream sensibilities, pulling new elements out of the original while keeping it functional for both peak-time sets and radio rotation. Topping’s remix, released earlier this month, went a different route entirely, pushing ‘Rotate’ toward the rolling, groove-heavy club house sound he’s built his reputation on over the past several years.

The original ‘Rotate’ features America Foster, who recently joined Major Lazer as a permanent member, alongside Skillibeng and Beam. The track dropped earlier this year as a long-awaited fan favorite, arriving with a dance video starring the Lazer Gyals, the group’s longtime dance troupe, choreographed by Sara Bivens — an original Lazer Gyal — and Calvit Hodge.

Major Lazer was built out of Diplo’s studio experimentation and his long-running interest in Caribbean music, and the project has since grown into a fixture of global pop. The group’s catalog includes the Diamond-certified ‘Lean On,’ the 4x Platinum ‘Cold Water’ and the 2x Platinum ‘Light It Up,’ along with collaborations spanning Beyonce, J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, WizKid, El Alfa, Burna Boy, Travis Scott and Ariana Grande.

Their amapiano-focused project with Major League DJz, Piano Republik, landed in 2023, following the trio’s last full-length album, Music Is the Weapon, in 2020. Last year, the group marked the 15th anniversary of their debut album, Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do.

Both the David Guetta and Patrick Topping remixes of ‘Rotate’ are out now via Because Music, giving the single a second wind across house and mainstream dance circles alike.
