Breakaway rolled back into the Festival Grounds at Subaru Park in Chester last weekend (September 11-12) and delivered exactly what the Philly crowd needed as summer wound down. Two stages, a silent disco, CELSIUS activations, and a lineup that bounced between big-room anthems, live house energy, and bass mayhem. Good vibes, pyro, CO2 cannons, and the hometown energy (especially with Marshmello closing Saturday) made the whole weekend hit harder.

Activations

Off the stages there was still plenty going on. BeatBox was giving out free samples and merch, NOYZ Perfume had a presence on the grounds, and CELSIUS rolled in with a two-story trailer offering complimentary drinks plus a rooftop lounge area. Chase set up a cardmember lounge with better views of the main stage, Hiyo passed out drinks, and LIFEWTR ran a misting tent that came in clutch during the warmer stretches. Over at the White Claw tent you could even get some glimmer applied if you wanted a little extra shine. The outdoor layout along the Delaware River worked in the festival’s favor as well which added to the overall ambiance of the festival.

SOFI TUKKER brought live instruments, vocals, and pure party chaos to the main stage Friday. Tracks like ‘House Arrest’ and ‘Best Friend’ had the crowd fully locked in, turning the set into something closer to a club takeover than a standard festival slot.

Tiësto closed Friday with polished big-room energy. He mixed ‘The Business,’ ‘The Motto,’ and classic anthems with newer material, keeping the lights and lasers perfectly timed for those towering outdoor drops.

Deathpact delivered one of the darker, heavier moments on The L.A.B Friday night. The anonymous bass project leaned fully into the industrial and aggressive side of the genre, giving the later crowd exactly the intensity they wanted.

AVELLO threw down a strong bass set earlier in the evening and kept the energy high with sharp production and crowd-moving drops that felt built for the festival setting.

ISOxo owned Saturday’s main stage with pure high-octane modern bass. Sharp, aggressive, and packed with low-end pressure, his set had the rail bouncing and the VIP section actually moving.

KREAM brought solid house grooves to the main stage Friday, delivering that clean, dancefloor-focused energy that sat perfectly between the earlier sets and the bigger names.

Layton Giordani took The L.A.B into proper techno territory Saturday night. Driving, hypnotic, and locked-in, his set gave the bass-heavy day a welcome harder edge.

Marshmello closed the weekend as the hometown hero with a feel-good, hit-filled set. Helmet on and tracks like ‘Alone,’ ‘Happier,’ and ‘Silence’ flying, he kept the entire main stage area locked in until midnight.

Overall, Breakaway Philly’s sophomore edition was a success with how the event played out. The split between Friday’s more open-format energy and Saturday’s bass-heavy lean worked, the local support held its own, and the headliners delivered.
